Try the degauss feature
The monitor will have a menu
Use the arrow buttons to navigate
Take a look at this image
Use the degauss, by locating that icon
The monitor will flicker and the shades will be removed.

Hope it helps,
Cheers

Every thing is greenish in picture, green color overlays allover

One color predominant screen is the fault. In most cases, it will be due to some loose solder terminal/s at its video output card [CRT base card]. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

Why is my picture green on my tv?

The screen colors are all derived from three distinct colors. Red, Blue and Green. The colors can change due to a few problems. The purity or converge could have been disturbed due to magnetic interference, one or two of the color amplifiers have stopped working or the picture tube has failed. Color problems can be as easy as circling a high magnetic field coil in front of the set, known as 'degaussing' or extremely technical, frustrating and then hence expensive.

Hi, I have a samsung samtron 55V 15 inch monitor. The problem is it is not displaying the actual colors. The red color appears as a greenish/bluish shade. Ex: The Windows Start button is showing as light...

Hi,
You have to check for dry soldering in the base board of you mointor. The base board is on which is attached to the picture tube neck. In most cases there will be dry soldering in the pins of cathode diver ic in that base board. It will be difficult find out which pin have the dry soldering. Do on thing resolder all the pins of that ic. This ic cotrols the three cathodes of picture tube (red, blue, and geen) is any one did not get the correct drive that color will fail to display. In your case the red cathode is not getting the drive voltage. Thats why it shows only gree and blue. This is a reular complait for crt monitors.
ok

The monitor needs to be repaired. The cost of the repair maybe too high. I suggest you get a quote first or gjust et a new LCD monitor.
Do not try to fix it yourself because there are high voltages inside these CRT monitors unless you understand display electronics and the dangers etc.

It is due to dry soldering on the crt board. Try to resolder all the dry joints on the crt board.

Extra red color in moniter graphics

Hi, is this a CRT monitor? If so get rid of it, there are 3 color beam projectors in the back of the tube if one goes out of commision all color changes and is not worth fixing, second hand CRT monitors are cheap so get one ASAP. Goodluck mistyman
