Re: cable connector repair

Best repair is replace tuner. Next is replace broken connector.
Use generic RF input connector from supplier such as Mouser
Electronics or RCA part # 215543.

Next - By-pass would need a source box ( cable,satellite,vcr),
in other words, channel change ability . Hook cable-in
to source then go out to TV video input.TV would stay
on video input as a monitor........T.

PS. If you want the tuner part # , please provide service # from
          back of set....

The cable connector has been broken off. is there any way of fixing this without replacing the entire board

With most tv's I've serviced, the cable connector is connected directly to the tuner module. The tuner module may be damaged beyond repair, depending upon how much physical force was applied to the cable connector. I would take it to a reputable repair shop and let them provide you a honest estimate of repair. They may be able to resolder the cable connector to the tuner module.

How to hook psp3 to regular tv

The ps3 has 2 ways to connect to your tv. It has HDMI output and a regular video output. The regular video output is a yellow RCA connector with a red and white audio connector. You should have gotten this cable with the ps3. If your tv does not have a video or AUX input a regular vcr will. Connect the yellow, red and white from your ps3 to the same on your tv or vcr and select that input on your tv or vcr.

The CATV connector on my Mitsubishi tv is broken off

This is the connector for the tuner. This repair must be done by someone who knows how to solder. But, if you have a Cable or Satellite box and this TV has AV connectors on the can use those and do not need to repair the TV tuner. If you do not have cable or satellite you can also use a VCR as a tuner. Just put the cable into the VCR and come out of the [VCR] AV outputs into the TV AV inputs.

Cable cord connector

Greetings Florie12,

This unfortunately is a common issue that happens when moving televisions with the coaxial connection (the silver connector). Normally the best way to get this repaired is to bring it in to a local repair facility. I can't speak on the costs but they should be nominal, as long there wasn't any other internal components that were damaged.

Another repair option might be to purchase a digital converter box for your television as long as you have Audio/Video inputs. With the pending conversion to digital broadcasts this would be killing two birds with one stone.

Tv repair

Yes, it is worth repairing. Replacing the F connector is a very simple thing, and as long as nothing was forced into the hole left by the missing F connector, the repair should run about $40.

1996 32 inch Panasonic TV

What you are calling the "antenna module" is actually the tuner. The connector that pulled out is called the F connector. The F connector can be soldered back onto the tuner but this is a very delicate procedure and is especially difficult if any of the coils in the area of the F connector have been bent, altered or moved. The tuner itself is not too expensive and is much easier to replace than trying to replace the F connector, especially if you have never done one before. If you use this set with a cable box then simply connect AV cables from the cable box to the TV set the TV to VIDEO.

Cable Connector inside TV

Unless you know how to sholder well and know how to do an isolation test on the set after its repaired I would let a pro do it My friend as I've seen it a hundred times. A peep will simply hook up a connector to the set and ground the connector or what looks like a ground and as soon as that set is pluged into an ac outlet and a cable or sat line is attached KAPOWWWWEEYYY.. It smokes and you end up blowing out the bridge rectifiers aong with all sorts of things. Now dont get me wrong please as you can repair set if and only if you wanna take that chance by simply taking a piece of coax cable with a connector on one end and soldering the center wire onto the broken wire that came off the connector and then soldering the outside or sheild wire to the place where the broken connector was attached if at all possible BUT I repeat this is not a good way to do this. Good luck
