Hello, this could be a control board issue with the relay on the board sticking and in that case the board must be replaced, or the thermostat could be wired incorrectly.

Above ground hayware heater, lights, stays lit for about one minute and goes out

Sounds to me like you have an issue witht the thermostatic switch. There is a switch inside the unit that when the burner gets hot enough it will turn on the blower, it could also be something else, purhaps a thermostat wired wrong (if you have one) a bad relay, or something of that sort. It doesn't sound like a major deal if its firing up

Fan has 2 settings for the fan; auto & high. when in 'high' mode, the heating element will cycle on/off as if it is in 'auto' mode (i.e., the thermostat will turn the heating element off). but, the it...

A common issue with these heaters is the safety switch which is part of the thermostatically controlled temp switch. A faulty safety switch would result in constant "on/off" cycle as the unit is sensing an over-heated safety condition. If you hear a "click" when it shuts off and then another "click" when it turns back on, it is that switch heating up and cooling down opening and closing the circuit.

The manufacturer must install a "master" kill switch to prevent the unit from overheating and catching fire. A faulty switch may be the issue you have been facing.

End result, more money in getting it "fixed" than what you could spend to buy another heater. All in all, great heater when it works - horrible when it decides to break!!

Set the System switch to either Heat or Cool. Press the Hold Temp button. Use the Warmer/Cooler buttons to set temperature. Temps will stay until you either turn off the system switch or press Run Program.  Good luck.

Teledyne lars hot water heater, thermostats are off but baseboards still pumping heat

Sounds as though the valve that feeds the baseboards is stuck open. Either that or the thermostat wires are somehow crossed, or the thermostat is stuck in the closed position. Check those things and I think you will have the problem solved...Lee

Gas wall heater shuts off @ 70*

The over ride button is on the thermostat? It sounds like the thermostat is programed to cut out at this temp. If you want to try, remove the thermostat and connect the white and red wires together, don't worry, they are only 24 volts, you wont feel it. Like this the heater will run continuously. I don't know what type of heater you have so after a few minutes (4 or 5) the fan doesn't come on you need to attach the green wire to the white and red, but I don't think you will need to. If this does as I said, then the thermostat needs to be re-programed, or replaced with a simpler model that is not "energy efficient."

The heater will not ignite properly and the heater will not shut off

Judging by your pics (helpful, by the way) you have a high limit wired into your thermostat wire. Try disconnecting that wire nut connection in front of your valve and hooking the thermostat straight to the top and bottom posts on the valve (eliminating the high limit). If it runs fine, either the connection was poor or your high limit wire is pinched.
