Won't access computor

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

hi kbailey. Turn on the camera and go to the menu. find the reset function. Reset the camera. This means you are returning it to all of the settings it was at when it was brand new out of the box. Joe

I cant install my cam because the cd was lost

Hello there,

If you want to download the pictures on your camera, try plugging it into the usb port of your computer using the usb cable. Then turn on the camera and set it to review mode. Now, on your computer, click Start button >> All Programs >> Accessories and choose Scanners and Cameras. It will open up the window which will show the pictures and from there, follow the steps to download them.

If you want the sofware suite, you give me the exact make and model of your camera and I can help you find one.

Please let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FixYa.

Goes into sleep mode will not come back on for 2 weeks or longer

It might be setup to go into sleep mode if it is left idle for a certain period of time. To change the settings click the following(I am assuming you have windows vista or windows 7):
Start,Control Panel,Power options,Choose when the computer goes to sleep(look on the left side),Then adjust the settings to what you wish by clicking the black arrow there.
Also check the "choose when to turn off the screen" in the same spot you clicked Choose when the computer goes to sleep.

Camera goes to sleep too quickly...is there a way to adjust?

To save battery power, the camera automatically goes into sleep mode and the monitor turns off if there is no operation after 3 minutes when the camera is turned on (when the lens cover is open and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even if the shutter button is fully pressed in this mode. Operate the zoom button or other buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture. If the camera is left on for 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lens cover closes and the monitor turns off). Press POWER to turn the camera on.
