Question about Toshiba Satellite A200-0ET00X Notebook
If you hav ethe Toshiba reinstall disc, check to see if it has any kind of diagnostics loaded with it. Try starting the computer, and keep tapping the F2 key, this should load the setup BIOS screen. Go to the section in setup where you can change which boots first. Set it for the CDROM to boot first. Save the settings, and restart. Once the computer loads the disc first, look for hard drive diagnostic tools. run the diagnostics to check the hardware on the computer, it should tell you what is good, and what is not. If it is the hard drive that has failed, than that is an easy fix. The only hard part is having to shell out the cash for the new drive. Hard drives on laptops are easy to get to. They are under a door on the underside of the computer. There is probably a couple screws, and the hard drive compartment will open up. Just remove the old one, and plug in the new one. Hope this helps!
