Kenmore Dryer 60982 Runs but No Heat

Kenmore Dryer 60982 (Model 110.60982990) - the dryer runs but does not heat. The heating element does not look burned or broken. Could it be the thermostat Part #3390291 or perhaps the Thermal Cut-off Part #3398671? or the Relay Part #3405281? Please advise -- also how to test any suggested parts. Thanks so much! Ke

You can check them all with an ohms meter but i think it is the thermal fuse at the top of the heater box that is bad-mike

Kenmore front load dryer model #592-89057 01 will run but no heat.

Run but no heat can be caused by a number of things. Improper voltage to unit, heating element, thermostats and fuses, timer or control board, wiring, and motor. Heat circuit runs through all of these.

Dryer runs, but no heat. Is there a heating

No heat is not always an element. It could be the thermal fuse (check this first), a thermostat or a leg of your 240VAC missing. Replacing an element is relatively easy depending on ones mechanical abilities. Depending on the model it is accessable from either the front or the back. Back one is easiest.

My kenmore dryer model 86873100 will not heat

gas or electric? if it runs, check the heating element for a break. make sure the dryer venting is cleaned or the safety on the heater element will shut off the heat to prevent a fire. you may also need a thermal cut out kit which is mounted on the heater assembly.

Kenmore Heavy Dut Model 86427810 runs but does not heat

You need to have a look at the thermal protection devices and the thermostat section and make sure they are functioning such that power is reaching the heating elements. If they are and there is still no heat, the elements are probably malfunctioning. If the dryer is producing ANY heat, then the thermostat and thermal circuit is OK, and all you need are elements.

Dryer runs no heat

the kenmore is manufactured by Whirlpool. there are thermal overloads in the blower housing and one in back where the elements are. if these overloads open, 1) motor won't run 2) element won't turn on. check for an obvious open element.
