All USB socktes are embeded in the MBs, they used to have only plain USB's, but since the USB and the USB 2.0 are not always compatible, they give you 2-4 sockts USB 2.0 under where the mouse and keyboard sockets are. The straight USB are placed much lower, above the inputs and outputs, either parallel to them, or in a vertical raw. If you need more information, we will happy to assist you, but we will need the computer name, the model number, and the MB ID, which usualy is located in between the white PCI socketsor around the RAM memeories at the upper right corner of the Mother board. Thank you for considering our service; we are sure that we can help you...

No video or boot. Nspire with P4P-800MX

Hello try to download the manual here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_478/P4P800MX/#download

Please select your windows system.
Next open the manual folder, and click on global for download.
You will need adobe reader, to read the content.

The problem could be the power supply failing, or bad capasitors on the mainboard:

If the problem did not occur before the power outrage, i suspect the power supply failing.

If you change the power supply, take antistatic precautions when working on the mainboard.

Good luck

J ai beaucoup de probleme avec mon desktop p4p800-mx chassis intruded

You have a problem with the Chassis Intrusion part, of the Asus P4P800-MX motherboard?

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_478/P4P800MX/#download

The Chassis Intrusion header is below the CMOS battery to the left.
It is in-between the two black SATA connectors.

It is a 4-pin header.
From -> LEFT to RIGHT pins are numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Put a Jumper Cap on Pins 3 and 4, and bypass the Chassis Intrusion option.

In the -> OS box, click on the blue Down Arrow. Now click on Windows XP.
In the drop down list, click on the + sign to the left of Manual (5)

Version E1880 - P4P800-MX user's manual (English version) E1880
Click on the blue -> Global

Go to Page 35. (PDF file page. Manual page is 1-25)
Chassis intrusion connector (4-1 pin Chassis1)

I had to change the motherboard as it failed

Look at the front panel of the computer you will see the connections you have. Should be power, reset, power led, usb etc. These are connected to your current motherboard and most times all the connections will be labeled in the case, on the wire connector ends. IE the end that connects to the motherboard. The only exception to this is the usb ports, and they can be hooked up to new usb connectors on the motherboard. Also note, read i said READ the proper way to connect the usb to the motherboard, this is usually a one shot deal, get it wrong and you kill that usb connector.

You've probably connected the pins wrong. You should find the manual and see how your front USB ports must be connected

I want to connect the extra usb from the ATX but i have 8 wires and on the motherboard 13 connectors

monkybrain

In regards to connecting the USB wires this is common because not all case/USB connectors use the same pin connection. What you will need to do is look up the info in your motherboard manual to see where the pins go. Note the wires/connectors should be labeled as well.

Hope this helps

How to connect the usb front panel

There are connectors on the motherboard for the usb connectors that go to the front panel. Look at you manual and connect the connectors correctly. Each connector has 4 wires, with a red(+5volts) and black on each end. Make sure plug these in correctly on the motherboard connectors since a backward connection will burn up your usb device when it's plugged into the usb port. Been there done that! It should say something like this in the manual, VCC, USB1-, USB1+, GND.

If you are talking about something like a front usb socket that's connected inside the PC then look at this picture as an example.

Just look on the motherboard for these connectors.
They are usually marked usb on the board.
