If you have your original XP disk (and I'm assuming you would if you had partioned), boot from the XP CD, accept the licensing agreement, then select the repair option. Watch the lower left hand of your screen. When it says "installing devices" press Shift F10. You should get a prompt. Type in NUSRMGR.CPL, then Enter. That should give you User Accounts in Control Panel so you can change the password. If this doesn't work, I'm afraid you are doomed - unless someone else knows another way! Good Luck!

I forget my password: latitude E6400

Hi,

This is only possible if you are using Windows XP. If your operating system is windows Xp, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on your laptop and allow it get to the stage where is will ask for user/log password
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del your keyboard.
  3. A user name and password prompt will pop up.
  4. On the user name type in "administrator
  5. On the password, type in "administrator
  6. and you windows will open, go to control panel from there to change the password.
That's all. In other words, the user name and password is administrator.

But in the case of windows Vista, you will have to re-run windows operating system, because vista security is very tight and it is difficult to break into its password.

Take care.

Try by logging in with the administrator account. You can do this by pressing F8 while windows starts and choosing to boot into Safe Mode. Then select the Administrator account. You can then edit/change user settings once logged in.

If this does not work (like when there's a password assigned to the administrator account as well), your only solution is to do a clean install of windows xp. This is not ideal, though, as you'll lose the data on your drive (for example all files under my documents/pictures/music and the desktop.

Good luck.

Forgot password, window xp home edition, how to by pass

Here is a little trick to use that may or may not work:
Start the computer in safe mode and log on as administrator. It's surprising how many people set up their XP computers and password protect their profile, but forget to password protect the administrator account. Once in, you can change your password in your own account.
