Worst case senario, pull the harddrive and install it into a usb harddrive enclosure (available at many office supply stores and easy to do) and plug it into another computer (non windows preferred so that it ignores the permissions). You will have access to every file on the drive. Save the file on a flash drive or CD and put the drive back in your computer and obtain the file from the drive that you backed it up onto. This should work for you (if it is in fact an issue with accessing the file).

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

It is spelled: subpoena
A subpoena is a document that requires its recipient to appear in court as a witness. If you receive a subpoena, it doesn't mean you've done anything wrong; it just means you may have information that's needed by the court.

I've been getting pop-up windows that say I am prevented from opening or changing documents/files due to lack of authorization or permission. I am the owner of and only person using this computer. How can...

I am not sure if the documents or files that you are opening or changing are from attachments sent to you via email or not, but I can suggest that you can try this step:

Right click on one of the affected files and select Get Info.

This will open a long narrow box providing detailed information of the document.

Now look at the bottom of the window under Sharing & Permissions

Click the padlock and enter your User Admin password when the pop up window appears.

This will allow you access to changing the current permissions of this document.

Make sure you see permissions for "Read and Write" attached to your user name.

If you do, then go ahead and close this window. However, if you see only Read permissions attached to your user, then change that to Read and Write.

Once you have done this, close this Get Info window.

Try to launch that affect document to see if it opens now. If it does then this may be a permissions issue that is affecting your documents and files.

Whether you can or not, I would still recommend you still run this procedure below in order to try and fix this permissions issue.

Now run Disk Utility to repair all permissions on your Mac OS X volume.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} -RUN DISK UTILITY-

Go to Finder Menu bar
• Click Go > Utilities > Disk Utility and open up Disk Utility app.
• Click on Macintosh HD volume (or on the name you have changed this volume to.)
• Select "Repair Disk Permissions"
**Let Disk Utilities run this repair permissions until completion

Once Disk Utility is complete and there are no errors in red in the completion summary (if there are errors listed in red, re-run Disk Utility to see if those error will clear- if they don't reply back to this post right away and let me know what the exact error message is), quit Disk Utility.

• Now attempt once again to access the affected documents and files and see if you are able to access these items now.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

-Mactechtrainer

Forgotten passwrod to access user account

If you can log in as an administrator or someone with administrator rights you can open the documents folder for all users. If you need to make a new user. (if possible) and set it to administrator rights. Then log in under the new name and open "my computer" then open the folders as follows.
C:\>documents and settings>User>users documents

Does this help? If so please don't forget to rate the solution

I am unable to open your emails that you are sending me about fixing my PC... My problems relates to finding Internet Options in the Control Panel I open up a Microsoft Internet Explorer Window, Click on...

you're victim of some kind of mailware that restrict administrative rights it is certainly the cause of your email problem too.
Download DIALAFIX
run it and go to policies, then scan, normally a line should appear, select remove, reboot, retry.
it should then allow you to access and perhaps your mail problems will be solved already..

Can't print documents from Word.

Did you do a test print by pressing ink testprint etc.? Do you have all colors incl. BK? If yes, check the printersetting WITHIN Word. Is the mfc the printer to be recognized by Word or is it another one? If you miss the bk upon the test sheet try to clean the ink cart by help of pressing ink arrow-down-button (cleaning) and (blue) start mono. If there is no or not enough ink check the cart. In case you use third party ones, use an original brother cart and do the cleaning twice. Third party carts do make a lot of trouble due to malconstruction!
