unfortunately, the manual is useless with this particular problem...if i could reset it or somehow clear the memory, that would be perfect.

  • an_rodriguez Jun 04, 2009

how would i be able to find that out, and i may not have removed it safely...isn't there an easier option???i didnt know this could be so complicated. thank you for your help, and taking the time to do this.

Is it posible to format the whole player from the computer or reset the player so that all the files are erased from it so you can add new playlists, like doing a hard reset to factory settings and erasing everything if it is possible to format it from the computer i wouldnt do it if it shows files that the player needs when you plug it in to the computer but i suggest doing a hard reset on it heres the manual link http://www.curtisint.com/web/browser.asp?productID=SMPK1021&catName=&brand=SYLVANIA&manual=SMPK1021 it might tell you in there how to hard reset it or how to fix it

I have a slick 4gb mp418c-4. i have been trying to make use of the playlist files but can't seem to get it. how do i create playlists in my files?

How to make a Playlist --- Listen to the song you want to add to a Playlist. While the song is playing, press & HOLD the [MENU] button for a couple of seconds. Another screen will appear with the following options. 1. Music Playback -- Normal / Random 2. Select EQ 3. Lyric Display -- Enable / Off 4. Add to MyList 5. Delete the File Move to #4 and press the [SELECT] button. Playlists will appear. Choose which one you want to add songs to and press the [SELECT] button. A check-mark will appear, meaning song has been added to PlayList. Press [MENU] button to get out. To DELETE songs from PlayList --- Go to options list when you first enter Music file and scroll down to 'My Music List'. Press [SELECT] button, Highlight the PlayList you want to delete songs from and press [SELECT] button. Highlight the song you want to delete, press and HOLD the [MENU] button for the delete screen to appear. 2 options on that screen - OK & Cancel Hope this helps Andrew

My mp4 deletes songs when I try to put new ones on it why?

hi,
if you sync you iPod , all the music in the iPod will be deleted.
what you need to do is to click on your iPod icon when you connect it to the computer and then check "Manually manage music".
then you need to create a playlist, put all the songs you want to add in your iPod, then under the iPod click on Music, and you will see "Autofill from:" below the window.
select the playlist yu created and click on autofill.
thus the songs will be added without deleting the ones which were already on the iPod.

Can't create playlists on my zen x fi

I tried some suggestions posted here, and after some testing, I can now give you step-by-step instructions to create a playlist on your Creative Zen.

First, you need to think of the NOW PLAYING list as the "selected songs to be added to a playlist".

So, to start clean, let's empty out the NOW PLAYING list as follows:
1) from the MUSIC menu, select NOW PLAYING
2) when a song is shown on-screen, click the context menu
3) select REMOVE ...
4) select REMOVE ALL
Now, the NOW PLAYING list is empty.

Now, you need to select (mark) the songs you want to add to your new playlist:
1) go to an individual song
2) click the context menu, and select ADD TO SELECTED
3) go to another desired song, and do step 2) again
4) repeat until done

Now, to create a NEW playlist, go to the MUSIC menu, then:
1) select NOW PLAYING
2) it will show you the first song that you selected
3) press the Right button, to scroll through all of the other songs you selected
4) when any song is shown on-screen, click the context menu
5) select SAVE AS PLAYLIST (this refers to ALL songs in your NOW PLAYING list)
6) type the name for your new playlist, and click checkmark
ALL of the songs in the NOW PLAYING list are now saved as your New playlist.

From the MUSIC menu, select PLAYLISTS. You will see the name of the playlist that you just created. When you select that playlist, you will see the list of songs you had selected.

Please note that these songs are still in your NOW PLAYING list also. To create a another New playlist, you will first need to empty out the NOW PLAYING list as you did above.

I hope that helps.

Enjoy!

Computer doesn't recognize songs on the player

Go to disc utility and click on erase volume, then you will be able to add new songs. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, you may have to delete the entire volume and start over.

Sylvania mp3 player smpk1021/smpk2021

Well folks after thinking about this long and hard, I have finally figured this little device out. What we all though was a piece of junk works!! Just wish some directions would have been sent with the MP3 Player. All you need to do is simple make sure you have Real Player the SMPK 2021 is completely compatible with this player drag and drop your music and add to your device. It works great.. you can also delete any old music and upload new music but all needs to be done through your real player!! You can also add videos the same way!!! I am more than willing to help you out... took me long enough to figure it out, hate to see someone bang their head against a wall as much as I have.... so good luck My Mp3 is now rockin

On-The-Go has stopped working....

Try deleting all three aside from one, and keep it named the original. If that doesnt work, you could try restoring factory settings. that would probably work best. I dont think will delete your music library, and you could probably just create separate playlists if you want other "on the gos" :)
