Question about Samsung LE32R41BD 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
First of all, the remote I got in the box comes with a manual describing and depicting a COMPLETELY different remote with at least 10 buttons my remote doesn't have, so all of the setup instructions are completely useless. For example, it tells me to enter the new VCHIP code and hold the SETUP button. GUESS WHAT? I don't HAVE a SETUP buttom on MY remote.
Anyway, I tried 0000 and 1234, 9999, 8888, 1111 and the other usual suspects, but none of them turn off the pesky vchip. This board gives some advice about holding down 9 and QV but I don't have QV, either. : ((( I just want to watch TV!!
My 10-year-old got a big laugh at this for all the times he has figured out the codes and all the times he has been grounded, etc. I told him if you guys don't help me soon, he can only watch Care Bears and Barney until he's 12!!!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

First test the wall outlet, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet see if it works. If the outlet works then read the following below. If the wall outlet doesn't work then plug the TV into another outlet.
If its not the wall outlet:
Unfortunately the power supply has a problem sustaining DC output. This can be caused from several fault scenarios. Get someone who is technically savvy and I will show them via e-mail what to test to fix this problem for you. Or you can take it to your local repair center.

If by regular cables you are talking about the standard red/yellow/white composite cables, then, yes, it will affect HD as composite cannot send an HD signal. Only HDMI and component (red/blue/green video only) cables.
Change to HDMI and let us know if it works for you.
