This happened to my phone. All I had to do was update my phone. If you already did I suggest you just do a soft reset if that doesn't work you can always try to do a hard reset. Good luck. Make sure to back your things up before you do all of this.. Well atleast before you do the reset.

How do I keep my iPhone 5 and my iPad 6 from switching from portrait screen up and down to landscape screen side to side ?...thanks in advance

Well first the obvious answer...don't hold the device in landscape mode :)

But that's no good. You should be able to hold the device how you want and have the screen rotation how you want as well. Holding an iPad in portrait mode while laying in bed on your side for example, right?

A single finger swipe from the bottom of the display just across the bezel into the display area will bring up the lock screen rotation toggle. It's at the top of the control center, the far right circle.

But what happens if the screen rubber bands?

What is rubber banding? See the video example.

Acer how to setup

You are looking for an option called Rotation or Rotation Lock (varies by Android version and tablet). Once you find it, orient the tablet so it is in landscape mode, then turn off rotation. If you do not have an option on the bar at the top of the tablet (top pull-down you get by sliding down a finger from the top of the screen), then go to Settings, Display, and look for Rotation, Rotation Lock, or Screen Rotation.

Iphone 4 landscape mode disabled after upgrading to iOS 7

You're orientation lock is on. Slide your finger from the bottom up and you will see a little circle with an arrow. That should open it back up for you.

How do i get my I phone 5 in landscape mode

If you're on iOS 7, swipe up from the bottom of the home screen to reveal the screen lock control...also you can't have the phone it self in landscape mode, usually some Apps, and browser works in landscape mode.

What is the iphone lock symbol with circle arrow around it?

Orientation lock. This means that the screen will not switch between portrait and landscape mode when you rotate the phone.

To enable/disable orientation lock:

  1. Double-press the home key
  2. Slide the icon bar to the right
  3. Press the (lock)/(circle arrow) logo to toggle the lock mode

G1 screen slide probem

ya......sorry guys. sounds like the phone is stuck on 'landscape mode'

you can try to reset it, but i doubt that this will help. you might need to contact t-mobile and get the thing replaced for the internal sensor that recognises the phoen is closed is just not registering.

either way t-mobile HAS to attempt this....so try this reset. it might just save you a phone call.

keep in mind, doing this master reset will clear all settings installed on the handset and clear out any personal data. if you can at leaset remember your gmail username and password, your contact info and calender info will be restored.....

select MENU > SETTINGS > SD CARD AND PHONE STORAGE >FACTORY DATA RESET > RESET PHONE > ERASE EVERYTHING

if that doesnt work and you just cant get into the phone, try doing this:

with the phone OFF press the house and the power buttons at the same time until a triangle with a yellow '!' shows up. as soon as you see that icon, release the keys and slide open the keypad. pres the 'ALT' and 'W' keys at the same time and wait for the phoen too boot up and attempt it again.

T-Mobile's number is 1800-937-8997 if that doesnt work. and ask for another phone. good luck all.

8525 Keeps going from Landscape to portrait for no reason

the switch is actually caused by a magnet, automatic switching can be caused by the sliding screen becoming loose. one of the most common causes of the screen auto-switching is using a phone holder with a magnetic flap like many new holders have instead of a velcro flap.

maybe this is happening to you?

Landscape screen

your hardware slide sensor is probably broken.  go to start>settings, tap the screen tap at the bottom, tap the screen applicaton, change orientation to "landscape".  your phone will be permanently in landscape mode, which is better anyway, since the screen rotation is annoying as hell.
