Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook

1 Answer

My Dell Inspiron E1505's wireless adapter is off. I run a diagnostic on it and it says to turn it on by the switch located on the fron or the side of the computer or to press the correct key commands to turn it on. I have no switch and no key that I press happen to turn it on. Any insight would be very helpful. Thank you

Go into the device manager and underneath network adaptors, see if the wireless card is being recognized in there. If its not then tell me if you have any yellow question marks in the device manager.

To turn on your wireless adapter, press FN and F2. The wireless adapter light should turn on (the fourth light on the top).

The user's manual can be found here.

I replaced the hardrive on my dell inspiron e1505 when the original died but now it does not indicate a wireless connection area-do i need to replace a wireless card?

No. You need to install the driver for the wireless adapter. Go to the Dell website under support, enter your service tag number, go to driver downloads, download the driver for the adapter, and install in your computer.

Check all around the laptop for a switch. If there isn't one, I know the key function for Dell Latitude D610 laptops is 'FN+F2?. It might be the same for inspiron...

I had to restore my dell inspirion E1505, and it says i have no wireless network, how do i turn this worless network back on?

Hi,
You need to check for the wireless switch located on your laptop. Once the wireless switch is on, you'll be able to see networks in range and you will be able to connect to your network wireless.
Good Luck!

you can see wifi swtich in the front side of laptop.
You can also turn on\off wireless with FN key+ F5 key.
Press fn+F5 fn means function key it is on the key board.
Then yoiu can trun on/off wireless.
ALso make sure wireless is enable in laptop for that press windows key +R so you can see run type in run "ncpa.cpl" then press enter then you can see network adapters find your wireless adapter and right click on it enable if it is disabled.

Suddenly lost my wireless connection on Dell Inspiron E1505. The troubleshooting says to turn-on a wireless switch on the front or side but I cannot find the switch--where is it?

Look for a button somwehre near the top of the keyboard that looks like an antenna.
The wireless is usually pretty reliable if it can find a signal. My guess is that the wireless network has died. If it is a router then cycle power on the router. Then reboot the laptop.

My Dell Inspiron E1505's wireless switch is off.

This happened to me using a Dell Inspiron laptop. The wireless switch was disabled and the answer was supposed to use both the blue Fn and regular F2 function key to enable wireless connection. I tried Fn and F2 together and it did not work. I tried just F2 alone and it worked.
