Question about Televison & Video

2 Answers

I have the Mintek MDP-1070 DVD Player that I bought at Costco. I haven't used it much, but now it won't play a DVD. I can get the audio, but all the screen does is show colored vertical lines (kind of like the old test pattern on TV's). It worked when I put it away last summer (I keep it my RV). When i went to use it this year, it wouldn't work. Any ideas? Is it just an adjustment? Thanks,

Last expert thought it might be a loose wire. Problem is this is a sealed unit. Any idea on how to get into it to check for loose wires and adjustments??

Hi

Have you tried to clean the lens?? You can clean the lens of the DVD Player by inserting a Lens cleaning Disc. It cannot be loose wires as the sound is fine and the screen is showing picture with vertical lines. Please try to use the lens cleaning disc this should solve the issue. If still there is the same issue then you need to replace the Vertical IC from the DVD.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hi there,

check or try to change the wire you are using on the unit. it seems that you got a loose / faulty video wire in there. all check if you have an NTSC / PAL adjustment on the unit.

Let me know for further clarification

Hope this initial info helps.

MDP-1030 Problem - Flashing Green LED Power Light

Ihave a Mdp 1070 and from what I have learned is that the Co. has gone out of business for obvious reasons. Fortunately I brought mine at Costco so its going back. But youmight want to try and play a music cd all way through to recalibrate the heads. Dunno if this makes sense but i tried it and it worked for a day then went back to its blank self. The batteries have been recalled due to over heating and exploding so might want to exchange it with whom you brought it from.

A component lead comprises of 5 phono plugs 3 for pic red and white for sound. If your TV has progressive scan it must have an HDMI connection if so and the MDP also has one that is a better way to connect it.
