My 2000 Windstar has 92000 kilometers with a V6 motor. When I move the temperature select lever to HEAT the lever moves but it sounds as though an internal shutter tries to move but fails and there is no heat distribution. When the lever is moved to Cold I get ample air and the a/c works well even though it is noisy and sounds as though something in the system is shuddering.. This is a recent developement and any advice will be much appreciated. Sincerely, George.

Loss of vacuum for the system, maybe a critter living in the heat duct? My guess is loss of vacuum.

I really need a how to instruction manual. or something for changing the ac compressor on a 2000 ford windstar 3.8 liter v6. any help??

My other half drives a 99 windstar think 2000 is the same though.

It was trial and error when I did mine. Through the top or Bottom, I figured out that the Alternator and all the supporting brakets have to be removed. The compressor is easily pulled after the alternator and brakets are out of the way.

best of luck to you

Ford windstar 2001 is not blowing out heat. it makes a noise when the temperature bar is moved from side to side,

If the blower motor runs, I believe you have a broken linkage or hopefully it just came loose on your contol. Doesn't run: check fuse then relay then motor...

1999 ford windstar heater lever will not turn on front heat

Check on the heater control valve. It is probably close to the firewall behind the engine. There will be coolant lines attached to it. This valve should have an arm on it that opens and closes a valve inside, either shutting off or allowing hot coolant to flow into the heater core. The arm should be attached to a cable coming from inside the car. See if the arm moves when you move the heat temperature level inside the car.

Noise when moving heat contol lever accoss no heat sometimes 202 windstar

Check the temperature control actuator. If the noise is a clicking sound it is the actuator.

When you move the temp. control from hot to cold there is a nocking or clicking noise. doesn't sound any thing like an air lock in the heater core. sounds more like its in the heater duct

there is a vacuum operated flap that moves in there.check and see if something is stuck,or a foreign object from the dash maybe fell inside through the defroster vents.

Problem: Ford Windstar SE, 3.8L V6, 1999, front seat heat/defrost is alway cold with engine warm and heater turned on. Symptoms: 1) When (engine is warm and) front seat heat temp slider is moved from...

I would think the door you hear flapping is the door that controls the airflow across the heater coil - and the fan keeps blowing the door closed, preventing the airflow from going across the heating coil. I don't know whether this vehicle is vacum controlled or cable controlled - so either it's a disconnected cable, or a leaking vacum line.

I have a 2000 ford windstar no heat still

My 99 windstar did this too. It was the blend door that the actuator motor goes into was broke. When you pull the actuator out look into the hole and see if you see a d shape piece coming out of the box if it is not d shape it is broke check out this site great photos

Ford windstar

This is a heater vent motor.

About $84.00 from dealer, pain in the *** to change behind the radio, but worth doing it yourself.
