Question about Canon BubleJet i965 InkJet Printer

Canon i965 - not printing majenta

I have just replaced my canon i965 with a canon majenta ink cartridge but it's not printing. I have done all the maintenance procedures and reinstalled the start up disc. The cartridge doesn't apear to be faulty. ???

    yes, i have just put a new majenta cartridge in it but its not printing the majenta.

First ensure it is not a cartridge problem, try a replacement.
It does not look like a print head problem, it can be a driver problem or a logic fault in the printer.

Because of the way they're designed, older Canon printers can sometimes get dirty print heads which can cause some ink colors not to come out properly or at all. This can cause light printing or a tendency to a certain color, like what you're describing.

The best thing to do would be to go into the Printer Settings (by opening Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes) and right-click on the i965 to select 'Properties'.

Somewhere in that menu will be an option to run a Print Head Cleaning. Find that and allow it to run, and then print a test page to see if the colors have gotten back toward normal.

If it's still printing strangely, you might want to try to find a new print head (check www.canon.com to see if they still support the i965 model). If you can't find a replacement head for the i965, it might be time to buy a new printer, since it will probably cost more to have yours looked at and repaired than it would to simply replace it. Sad, but true!

You will have to get it replaced by a Canon agent.

Just had mine done cost £50.00 +VAT

The codes on line to reset counters will not solve the problem and eventualy ink will leak from the printer.

Print head failure signal


Error 5 is an ink cartridge error. Cleaning the print head and electrical contacts on the cartridge does not fix this error. You need to get a new cartridge to fix the problem.

Printer is not printing after putting in new ink


hi from brisbane !!
your Canon printer is detecting low ink in the cartridge and stops the feed of ink .
i have had the same problem and have only refill the cartridge and its away again .
the cartridges have a few contacts on the back and sometimes by applying a magnent to those contacts , it erases the memory and start printing again .
try that and let me know how you go .

I965 print problem


if you used the right cartridges (here you can see them http://www.mediatec.ro/mt_main.php?consumabile-cartuse-toner-inkjet&st=1&marca=Canon&model=i%20965&tip=inkjet - first are compatibles and second the genuine Canin ones) the printer should start. Did the printer worked fine until previous cartriges runned out?

Color majenta not printing


Hi,

We've encountered several problems like this and we end-up replacing the printer head especially separate printer head technology from ink-cartridge(s). Cleaning well do in most cases and original ink cartridges is always better:) and cleaning of nozzle should be done three times only for it may consume whole ink cartridge half empty. For the ink-cartridge with printer head builted-in the problem with missing color most likely on the contacts between the cartridge and tray. Please wipe the contact points gently with dry cloth or cotton buds. Try to check if the contact points were not rotten or corroded with dried inks. Have a nice day.
