Question about Logitech Z-5500 Computer Speakers
The control station won't turn on - even though the unit is powered (judging sfrom the red standby-light) it turns on for a second then just turns off
Same problem here. All I can do to fix it is to turn the power OFF then ON using the switch on the sub-woofer. The problem is occurring more frequently with time. :(

I have had a similar problem that happens every time the power goes out or a circuit is broken. The Fuse is good on the unit but when powered up the control unit flashes once and then does nothing.
*Solution: Under the control unit there is a small hole. Use a paper clip to push into the hole. Ensure the base unit ((subwoofer)) is plugged in but turned off. While holding the pin in; turn the base unit on. The power light should turn red and hold the glow. The control unit is now back to it's original settings (( I think it resets the CPU?)) Push the red button on the control unit and your speakers should fire up again, good as new.
**Note: I have a slightly older model (AMR Z5450 Speaker System) - you may not have the paper clip option. Also, I have communicated with Logitech a couple of times and they did not tell me about this solution. I found it by trial and error.
**Official suggestions from Logitech: When I spoke to Logitech they recommended the following
~ If you are using a surge protector, bypass the surge protector and plug in the speaker directly to the wall.
~reset the unit and display the firmware revision
1. Put the Control Pod in 'standby'
2. Press and hold the 'input' and 'settings' buttons simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds.
