Hello. this is a common problem. Most often there is debris in the drain pump or in the drain hose, or even in the connection where the drain hose connects under your sink to the drain or to the garbage dispossal if you have one. check there first. If that is not the problem get back and i will tell you where to look next. i know i can solve this for you.

Is it normal for 2 inches of water to remain in space where filter container is positioned...whenever filter is removed water is in the compartment where filter rests

In my experience the lowest section of the washer has always retained some water about a cup or two. If the one way valve(check valve) in the drain hose has failed or residue trapped in it more water will drain back at the end of cycle. You can see from the image the volume of additional water that would be trapped in the hose that if the one way valve leaks; the water in the hose would leak back into the tub.

the drain hose is required to go above the drain connection to prevent back flow into the washer. the one way valve in the drain hose is required to prevent back flow into the tub in the event of a blocked drain.

I hope that this helps.

Check Valve Replacement part 8268375 Whirlpool Dishwasher Repair

In some washers the check valve is critical because the pump reverses during the normal cycle. The attached video is an example of the check valve replacement in a Whirlpool. I have found all washers are similar.

You can usually hear when the pump has emptied the tub by a change of pitch from the motor. If you quickly open the door and observe the remaining water level that is as low as I would expect.

Winterizing a Washing Machine

If you keep your washer in area where you need to winterize for the winter (unheated garage or unoccupied vacation home), the following steps may provide you with some helpful guidance in preparing before extreme temperatures occur and possibly leave you with damaged plumbing and/or a ruined appliance.<br /> <br /> <b><u>TOP LOADERS</u></b>:<br /> <br /> 1. Turn off the main water supply to both water taps.<br /> <br /> 2. Remove the fill hoses, drain them of all water and reinstall them - leave water supply turned OFF.<br /> <br /> 3. Add 1 gallon of Recreational Vehicle (RV) antifreeze (non-toxic) to an empty wash tub.<br /> <br /> 4. Select the DRAIN/SPIN function on the timer and allow the washer to run for one minute to drain the antifreeze from the wash tub, and any water remaining in the drain pump or drain lines. <br /> <br /> NOTE: Not all the antifreeze will drain. A small amount will remain in the drain pump and line (this is normal).<br /> <br /> 5. STOP or CANCEL the timer on the washer and UNPLUG.<br /> <br /> 6. Wipe down and dry the wash tub.<br /> <br /> 7. Clean the detergent dispenser and fabric softener dispenser and ensure they are dry.<br /> <br /> 8. Store washer, unplugged in an upright position.<br /> <br /> <br /> <b><u>FRONT LOADER</u></b>:<br /> <br /> 1. Select the DRAIN/SPIN function on the timer and allow the washer to run for one minute to drain the antifreeze from the wash tub and any water remaining in the drain pump or drain lines. <br /> <br /> NOTE: Not all the antifreeze will drain. A small amount will remain in the drain pump and line (this is normal).<br /> <br /> 5. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to halt the cycle and UNPLUG the appliance.<br /> <br /> 6. Wipe down and dry the wash tub.<br /> <br /> 7. IMPORTANT: Check the perimeter of the door bellow (gray rubber seal) and make sure no small articles of clothing are left in the rubber folds. Clean this area thoroughly and dry. NOTE: Anything left behind will mildew over a period of time causing foul odors.<br /> <br /> 8. Clean the detergent dispenser drawer of any remaining water or fabric softener residue.<br /> <br /> 9. Store washer, unplugged in an upright position.<br /> <br /> <b><i><u>Secondary Method</u></i></b>: <br /> <br /> If you cannot find RV antifreeze (or prefer not to use it), another method of draining the washer is to remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum on the line with a wet/dry shop vac. This will pull any remaining water from the drain pump and lines. <br /> <br /> If a shop vac is not available, lowering the drain hose from the standpipe to the floor will allow it to drain using simple gravity. <u>IMPORTANT</u>: On a front loader, you may have to remove the drain line from the drain pump to drain the pump. Or, use the access cover (if equipped). Most front loader pumps are accessed by removing the lower panel directly below the door.<br /> <br /> <b><i><u>Taking the Washer out of Winter Storage</u></i></b>:<br /> <br /> To remove antifreeze from the washer following storage, run the appliance on a complete cycle with detergent and NO garments added.<br /> <br /> I hope you find this information helpful. If you have any questions, please let me know.<br /> <br /> <br />

Items not dry enough after spin cycle, some water remains in machine

This is normal. It depends on a number of factors, including the type and volume of clothing you are trying to wash. Usually, it is not a machine issue.

Kenmore HE2 does not drain after first load.

  1. Unplug the washer to completely disconnect electrical power.
  2. Remove the bottom front service panel.
  3. Carefully reach up through the bottom opening and pull the release tab on the bottom of the door lock assembly until it clicks. NOTE: Internal metal edges in the washer can be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended for this procedure.
By pulling the manual release tab on the door lock assembly, you should be able to get the washer door open. After opening the door and removing the clothes, I recommend emptying any remaining water in the tub with a wet/dry vacuum (or bail it out). Since you already have the bottom front service panel off and the washer unplugged, you can arrange shallow pans and towels to catch any remaining water and pull the large item filter out of the drain pump assembly as shown in the second image below. You may find a clog in this area that is preventing your washer from draining properly. Clear any clog or debris from this area and reassemble the washer. Check your drain hose for a kink or clog. Check the washer house drain for a clog or restriction. Test the washer to see if it will drain properly.

Dishes and inside the washer are not drying

Make sure that the drain hose is connected as per manufacturer instructions, and that there isn't a direct run down from the sink u-bend to the machine. The rinse agent effects dishes dry but has nothing with the water remaining in the machine. Good luck!

WD63 Drain during wash but not dry cycle

the chances are you water valve has gone the drying cycle requires water to convert steam back to water, or poss your condenser is blocked this cant be cleaned easily better to change I dont know how competent you are if you have a muti meter you could test the soleniod which should have a resistence of around 3800 ohms. the valve is a triple one and the one that serves the condenser is the one facing downwards, disconnect power, take back off, turn water suppy off, take the 2 leads off the bottom solaniod only ,put your meter on contacts make sure you have selected crrect range on meter ie:10mohms if 0000 solanid faulty.Change valve if reading says 3800 valve ok change condenser
