Question about Uniden Cordless Phone

I have this program on my desktop that just appeared that's called, ''Shredder''. I have no idea what it is and i didn't install it. But it will not let me view its properties or anything. I can't delete it, and the only option for me to do with it, it open it, and than it just tells me to put some informtaion into it, so it can ''shred'' it like a paper shredder in real life i guess. How do i remove this from my computer??

    I don't really know what to do to remove the program all i have done is regular clicked on it and pressed delete, i also right clicked and clicked delete that way also and obviously it didn't work. As you can probably tell, i am not really computer savvy. No, the path does not display when i mouse over it. I don't know what operating system i am using, what do u mean by that? Name an operating system as an example so i know what u mean.

Will need a bit more information...what steps have you taken to remove the program? Does the path display when you mouse over it? What operating system are you running?

How do you use the PGP Shredder, the drag-and-drop item on the desktop - it doesn't seem to do anything!

I have sold, installed and maintained Symantec products for two decades now. I am sad to say it has become a terrible company that makes and repackages terrible products. Symantec was completely hacked a few years ago with all source code stolen and, recently, Symantec/Norton antivirus have removed themselves from all independent product testing because it makes them look bad. They only allow companies that can be paid to provide positive survey results, like Gartner Group, to review their products. I will never again trust Symantec to protect my computer or my clients' computers which includes shredding files. For what it is worth, I have moved all my clients to Kaspersky. Check out for unbiased reviews of antivirus/security products. Symantec disappeared from this review site a few years ago after consistently finishing near the bottom of the list. Even the free antivirus that comes with Windows, Windows Defender, beat out Symantec when they were being tested.

However, that doesn't help you shred files so here's my pick for that task:

I hope this helps.

Fully delete or just remove from access? If the former,
locate file on harddrive, RIGHT click on it then choose 'Delete'.
If the latter, you will need to install a 'shredder' or 'secure delete' program. Once that is done, start the shredder program, locate the file, left click and hold to drag and drop the file into it.

I need to uninstall programs from my dell dimension 8200. It doesn't say add or remove in my add/remove program

You might want to install a program called CCleaner. Very good with removing programs. If that doesn't appear, there might be a way of removing it from the registry. Use this microsoft article How to manually remove programs from the Add or Remove Programs tool

Removing fliptoast from the program list doesn't get rid of it. It continues to appear on the top of most programs I run. How can I totally shred this little ******?

Hi Llewellyn,

Did you delete the program from your programs folder or did you uninstall it through 'add/remove programs' in your control panel. Simply deleting it from your list of program files will not uninstall the program.
Deleting installed programs could also corrupt your windows installation.

Best wishes,

It appears that an associated program called netframe was installed with the program you installed and may be causing this fault.

Go to the link below and type as much information you can about the problem and such.
Then follow the prompts to repair the program or it may require other steps to perform.

Another option that can remove the installed software would be system restore.
This is done by going to the Windows program, "Accessories", and
selecting the "tools" menu, in the list of tools select, "System Restore".
A popup window will appear, to restore your computer to an earlier date
prior to when you installed the software. You will no loose any files you may
have created, but it will remove programs install after the restore date you select.

Shredder .msi will not install missing file

ø ShredIt for Windows is distributed as a zipped .msi (Microsoft Installer) file format.Double-click the .zip to de-compress it. Then double-click the .msi to install it.(this is a Microsoft Installer Package) If the installer does not launch or the installer indicates you need to upgrade, go to the appropriate Microsoft web page to download and install the current version of the Microsoft Installer for your version of Windows. For further information, refer to the ShredIt for Windows Read Me (pdf)

ø Start ShredIt for Windows.The Registration Dialog Box will be displayed on the bottom of the Main Dialog Box.Enter the Registration Key/Serial Number supplied when you paid for ShredIt.

o If you purchased online, the easiest way to do this is to copy (Ctrl C) and paste (Ctrl V) the information from the email we sent you. If you purchased a CD, the Serial Number/Registration Key is also on the CD jacket.

o If there is a problem with the registration information, the "Invalid Registration Information" dialog will appear. To correct the problem, refer to the "ShredIt for Windows FAQ".

ø Put ShredIt in a convenient place by putting a shortcut on the desktop, by the Recycle Bin.To put an alias to ShredIt X on the desktop, follow these steps:

Select the ShredIt application.
On the "C" Drive, navigate to the program file you want to make a shortcut for by doing the following:
From Start-> Click on "My Computer"
-> Click on "C" Drive
-> Click on "Program Files"
-> Click on "ShredIt" Folder
-> Click on the ShredIt Iconby single-clicking the ShredIt Icon.

Ensure that you select the ShredIt application, not the entire folder. (The application is called "ShredIt, ShredIt for Windows" and has a shredder icon. The folder is called "ShredItPC", has a folder icon and contains the application, the demo application and the documentation.)

From the File menu, select Create Shortcut.Drag the "Shortcut to ShredIt" to a convenient place. Most users put it on the desktop, above the Recycle Bin.

I purchased Shredder Model BD-S600 on 5/6/11. This was to replace another Black & Decker Shredder that I had for only a few months also. Today, when i attempted to turn shredder on to shred some...

If it's like my BD-S600 your motor is already burned out!! Same thing happened to me with this shredder after 3 months of minimal home use. I had to call them and pay $13 to send shredder back to them to have a new one sent to me, and I have already been on the phone with customer service due to problems with the new one after 5 minutes of use! Good luck to you; I know I will NEVER purchase a Black and Decker shredder again! My last shredder (a Brother) lasted 8 years with no problems and I really miss it!!

Shredder jammed; was able to clear by reversing, however, although no evidence of paper appears I cannot get shredder to accept anydocuments I need to shred.

I was having the same problem with my shredder. I called customer service; I was informed it was the gears on the inside of my shredder. My shredder is no longer under warranty. Don't open your shredder to repair it yourself because it will void your warranty. However, she is mailing me out the part I need for a small fee. Their customer service number is 1-800-327-8508 in the USA and international only 1-310-793-5650. I do hope this help you!
