Sony RDR-GX315 DVD 3 problem

I'm currently using a Sony RDR-GX315 dvd recorder and its suddenly giving me errors. When I press a button on the remote control, it tells me DVD 3 on the dvd recorder. No matter what button I push It says that.I'm not sure how to get it to stop because I can't record anything onto a disc or get to a title list(can only be done from the remote)Is there anyway to fix this?

Sounds like your laser is getting weak. repair is usually not economical. laser is about 90% the cost of the unit. hope this helps if it still plays but not record. keep it as strictly playback unit.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Looking for the code to unlock my sony rdr-gx315 dvd player

There are no default password to unlock the parental lock. If you've forgotten the password, it is required to perform the Easy Setup to reset the settings on the DVD Recorder. Please refer to page # 83 of the Recorder's manual to reset the Settings.

I have Sony RDR-VX535 and suddenly every time I press the remote it reads DVD 3 and does not perform any of the functions that I requested.

Your DVD recorder is set on DVD-3 remote option, check DVD Recorder remote lower section for DVD Mode button that has 3 options, set it on DVD-3 and recorder will start responding on your commands of remote.

SONY DVD RDR-GX315

Turn off recorder. Hold the on/off button on the dvd player for a few seconds. until "CHILD LOCK" disappears. The child lock is now disengaged...Check page 37 in the manual (I found it online -- same thing happened to my player -- I just freed it)

Wont play on other players

Here's the link to the manual; http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=RDRGX315 check page 67 - it sounds like your discs need to be finalised before you can read them elsewhere Hope this helps, if you dont find what you need please ask again :)
