Car wont start. Replaced the battery but car still wont start wont even make a sound. All the lights and the headlights come on even still chimes when the key is in the switch.
This sounds like an ignition switch issue. It is located on the opposite side of the ignition lock cylinder (the part you put the key into) and can be purchased for about $20-30. If you are handy with a volt/ohm meter, I can give you directions on how to test the 'start' wire to see if it is getting power before you buy a replacement switch.
SOURCE: Replaced fuel filter, now won't start
a cut off switch is almost never the problem just hummor me for a second and please check that the fuel filter is installed correctly not backwards then check the fuel pump fuse and relay if all good check for power at the pump and a good ground if all this is good then the pump need replacement

hello. i am not a mechanic but maybe our cure for our kia would help someone else. our 2000 kia wouldnt start, the lights and everything would come on but it wouldnt turn over. we replaced starter, battery, etc. finally my husband just paid our mechanic $130 and we bypassed the starter with a manual push start button. now when it doesnt want to start i just hit the button (after i turn on the key) and it starts every time!

Hi. this is the result of a failed O/D shift solenoid that is located inside the transmission pan. you will need to drop the trans pan to access this solenoid. once replaced, the O/D option will become operational once more.
Please rate and have a great day:)
