Blue ray on ps3 went out

The noise is actually a product of dust from a blue ray disc.Over time these discs heat up and leave a residue on the blue ray lens.
Try using a lens cleaner to remove dirt and clean lens.
Also i read an article that using a wireless controler can also cause freezing of the blue ray.

This is the 2nd most common problem with PS3's. This isn't a bad problem. Your laser/lens will need to be replaced. Do you see the time clock in the top right corner going around and around? If so, you are just having laser/lens problems. If you would like to perform this task yourself, you can access youtube and search for 'ps3 laser disassembly.' I personally wouldn't recommend it. Find yourself a good reputable ps3 technician and pay them the money rather than SONY.

If you do not see the time icon spinning when you insert a disc, your PS3's Blu Ray drive controller board has gone bad and you will need to send it to Sony and not a

3rd party technician. Certain problems are only repairable by Sony. Good luck.

You might not actually need to spend any money on a PS3 repair guide at all- instead you will need to purchase a new Blu Ray drive (or laser lens itself and simply replace the lens) But even before you do that try the following things:

• Clean your game disks
• Clean your Blu Ray drive (get one of those laser lens cleaning kits on eBay or Amazon)

Laser needs to be replaced. 95% of the time.

You can try: updating firmware
restoring system, and cleaning the laser lens with a q-tip

It almost never works, but you can try.

If it is not reading games,movies, or any sort of disk at all all it does is show the "reading disk" sign on the top right hand corner it most likely means that your blue ray reader died. That happened to me, i had to contact Sony to get it repaired. Of course i before hand i would recommend you to turn off system for a while, make sure disk is clean, and retry.

You damaged it, and your disks are scratched. How do I know? You just told me.

What kind of disk? What exactly do you mean by won't play? Do you mean you get a region warning? If so, you are trying to play a movie so is it on DVD or Blue-Ray also what region is the PS3 and what region is the DVD/Blue-Ray disk? Is it a game your having trouble with and if so do you get a message on screen or any lights on the front of the PS3?
There is absolutely no way to determine what the problem is, never mind what the solution is form "disc's wont plat in my ps3.", you need to be specific and verbose if we are to stand any chance of helping you.

sounds like the blu ray diode is burnt.
Send it to Sony for warranty replacement
