Question about HP Compaq Presario F750US

Synaptics touchpad not working properly

My synaptics pointing devise freezes and then moves randomly across the screen without me touching it (moving rapidly in the up and down direction). I've updated the driver, rebooted, adjusted the settings, nothing works. This random movement usually continues until I hibernate my laptop. After a few minutes, it starts again. I am able to use a wireless mouse but I sometimes have to turn off the touchpad.

Still having trouble. When the pointer is moving by itself, it will stop when I touch the touchscreen but I can only move the pointer up and down. When I take my finger off the touchpad, it moves again all by itself. Any other ideas?

Hmm give this method a try. Turn off computer remove AC power adapter. Remove the battery and press the power button for 30 seconds continuously. This removes the static from the system. This process is called as Power drain. This works in most of the cases. Good Luck !!!

I have a Dell laptop computer with Windows Vista Basic. The mouse on the screen has become very sensitive and sometimes it clicks on an item when it scrolls across the screen. How can I make it less...

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize > Mouse Pointers . The Mouse Properties settings window will open.
  2. Alternately, click Start and type Mouse in the Search field, and select Mouse when it becomes available in the program list. The Mouse Properties settings window will open.
  3. Select the Device Settings tab. Select the Synaptics TouchPad device and click Settings . In the Properties for Synaptics TouchPad window, expand the Sensitivity topic.
  4. Select the PalmCheck option to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad to avoid erratic cursor movement caused by accidental touching of the pad during normal typing.
  5. Select the Touch Sensitivity option to adjust how much finger pressure is required to move the mouse on the screen and how responsive the touchpad is to taps.

Toshiba a300 synaptic touch pad scroller stopped working

Hi there.
The touchpad drivers could be corrupt, try reinstalling the touchpad drivers again.
Go here to Toshiba Support fill in the details of your model laptop and download the synaptics touchpad driver and reinstall it, see if that helps.

My laptop pad is very senative how do i ajust this?

there doesnt seem to be a setting in the synaptics touchpad menu for this so you will have to reset the touch pad, go to my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down list to mice and other pointing devices. Click on it and you should see synaptics touchpad, right click, and select uninstal. Restart laptop and the driver will re install synaptics driver and set it back to default.
