When you are taking about Single-Ended, there is also
HVD = High Voltage Differential and
LVD = Low Voltage Differential
And if your tapedrive is single ended there is no setting in the drive to change that. Exabytes can't be changed easy. You just buy the HVD or LVD wham you need it.

Why only two settings on my s2980 for d.o.f.

The lens on the S2980 only opens up to f/3.1, and that only at the wide end of the zoom range. At the wide end the only available aperture settings are f/3.1 and f/6.4. At the long end they are f/5.6 and f/11. See the specifications on page 119 of the manual.

In general, compact cameras simply do not give you the control that larger (heavier, more expensive) SLRs do.

How to Tie a Tie

The knot that will be taught is called a Pratt knot, aka the Shelby Knot. It is a simple, easy to do knot that looks good with almost any shirt and tie combination.

Step 1) Start with the tie inside out, and the wide end about a foot further down than the narrow end.

Step 2) Cross the wide end under the narrow end.
tkahill_0.jpg

Step 3) Make a knot by bringing the wide end up and through the intersection of both ends.
See the picture below, it will make more sense.
tkahill_1.jpg

Step 4) Experiment a little to tighten and raise the knot up to your collar.

Step 5) Once the knot is raised, cross the wide end back over the narrow end and bring it up through the collar, as shown.

Step 6) Now, take the wide end you just pulled through and bring it down through the loop, on top of the narrow end.

Step 7) Now, tighten and adjust accordingly, and you're done!

Light switch wiring

Yes.
The code is maximum 12 boxes per circuit breaker.
You can connect a 12-2 NM W/G cable to one of the outlets. Black-to-black and white-to-white and ground-to-ground. Black is hot, white is neutral, and ground is ground. And bring that cable into a hollow-wall box you install 50" high on the wall. Then run the 12-2 cable up to your light fixture.

You can also replace one of the outlets with a combo switch-outlet. The run singe 12-2 cable up to light.
This wiring diagram shows half way down how-to-wire-switches page.
Outlets have wide blade on neutral side, and narrow blade on hot side.
The black hot wires from old outlet connect to side of combo device with narrow blade.
The white neutrals from old outlet, and new wire going to switch, all connect to silver screw on wide-blade side of new combo device.
The black wire going to new light connects to screw next to switch located on wide-blade side of device.

Monitor display width to wide

You should first check the native resolution of the replacement monitor, then set windows to use that resolution.

Left front passenger side cv joint for 1990 quattro has noise, is it easy to fix

Can be a messy job. Is the flexible rubber boot over surrounding the joint split and spewing forth oily muck. Remove wheel cover and bearing oil cap in the middle. slacken the wheel bearing nut a turn or so. Jack the car until the wheel is off the ground and remove the wheel. Remove the bearing nut and push (tap with wooden block the drive shaft inwards to disconnect it from the hub. Try turning the steering wheel if the shaft does not go back all the way to allow the stub to be released. You may have to undo the track rod end to give you extra clearance. Remove the split boot (gaiter) and wash the bearing clean of all oil and dirt with petrol so that you can inspect it thoroughly. The stub axle should also come free of the tripod ended drive shaft. If the metal shows bad signs of wear you will need to replace the bearing assembly. Repair kits for the replacement of boots contain packs of appropriate grease. To get the boot on easily you will need to have access to a boot cone tool. The wide end fits over the joint with the narrow end away from it. Lube the end of the narrow end of the boot and slip it over the narrow end of the cone. By forcing it along the cone the narrow end spreads wide enough to clear the joint and sit back down on the drive shaft. Fill the joint with new grease and seal the boot ends with a crimping tool. Wear neoprene gloves at all times as this is one filthy job

How to change battery- how do i get inside - have unscrewed but cant see how to open casing

You only need to undo two screws. Next to the 'kickout' stand there is a narrow strip (5mm wide) with a screw towards each end. With these screws removed this strip can be prised out with a little effort. The back panel can now be slid towards the kickstand by about 3mm and it then lifts off very easily. You will need clip the existing battery wires close to the battery and you new battery wire tails either soldered or twisted tightly to the bared wires. Insulate any such joins by wrapping in tape. Simply reverse the steps above to close and then recharge fully

97 fxdl, difference between narrow/wide glide componants

You need the complete front end including the wheel. The FXDWG is somewhat of an oddball in that a lot of parts fit only that bike. A lot of other parts will not fit a Wide Glide. This even applies to the exhaust system.

Measure the diameter of your upper fork tubes, they're 39 mm tubes. The Wide Glide uses 41 mm tubes. The Wide Glide also uses a 21" front wheel.

FXRS CONV -INSTALL TRIPLE TREES TO MAKE A WIDE GLIDE FRONT END

As long as the triple clamp stem is the same diameter, the triples can be changed out. As far as why, you're guess is as good as mine. Mine is that some people may like the narrow or mid glide front end, and an 883 just wouldn't look right as a wide glide.
