Do i mix the gas or use straight gas

The answer is that ALL 2-stroke engines requires that you mix oil with the gas. ALL 4-stroke engines do not take oil in the gas. So the simple answer is if there is no place to add oil, then you have to mix oil in the gas - not the same kind of oil though! I don't know this particular model, but I have never seen a 4-stroke wearable leaf-blower. The kind on wheels could be either, but most (maybe all) are 4-stroke.

What kind of oil do i use to mix with gas for my Poulan gas trimmer. Can i use WD30 motor oil or does it have to specifically say its for 2stroke engines? the ratio on the trimmer says 40:1 so i assume...

DO NOT USE MOTOR OIL!!!

There is a special 2-stroke engine oil mix that you can purchase at various stores that have outdoor equipment or you can also find mix at Walmart. There are instructions for proper mixing on the bottle.

Remember not to put 2-stroke mixed fuel in your lawn mower unless it is also 2-stroke (rare). And the converse is also true, do not put your 4-stroke lawn mower fuel in your 2-stroke weed eater.

If this is really helpful, please rate.

Need to know fuel mix for mcCulloch gladiator 550 petrol hedge trimmer

I don't know the age of this machine, but more and more of the newer units are using a 50:1 mix to satisfy the newest EPA emissions regulations. I suggest using a synthetic or synthetic blend of 2 stroke oil. ....the big box stores sell the oil...Echo one of the best. I would use synthetic and mix it 40:1. Here is a fuel mix chart to show you how many ounces of oil in a gallon of gas that is. If you make a 1/2 gallon batch of fuel mix, just use half of the listed oil amount for the mix.

http://support.mtdproducts.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/347/~/two-cycle-engine-fuel%3Aoil-mixture-chart

40:1 is 3.2 ounces of oil in a gallon of gas...or 1.6 ounces of oil in a half-gallon of gas

We have lost the information to make the gas mix for the trimmer. We used the gas mix we had last year and it put out a white exhaust. What is the gas/oil mix?

Hello. First, never use old gas ion a small engine. Use 1gallon of new gas and add one small bottle of mixinng oil, 2 ounces, available at any Walmart or auto parts store.

Does a yamaha 2003 atv have four stroke engine?

Do you mix oil into the gas?? Is there a place to check the oil (a dip stick). Is there a special place to put 2 cycle oil for a self mixer?

If you don't mix the gas with oil and there is no special place to put 2 cycle oil, you have a 4 cycle engine.

If there is a place on the side to check the oil level, you have a 4 cycle engine.

Next question will be ... how do I check the transmission oil? If you have a 4 cycle engine, the engine oil is also the transmission oil ... rule of thumb.

You are showing a picture of a motorcycle and asking a question about a ATV, but not mentioning a model number. I don't think Yamaha is currently making a 2 stroke engine for their ATV's (there are several sizes - not including assorted models for sale around the world ... and I don't know where you are writing from (and please don't say).

Maybe the best thing for you to do is call the Yamaha dealer on Monday morning and tell them the model you have and ask the question 2 stroke or 4 stroke. There will be no more guessing on your part then.

Make sense?

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com

With a 4 cycle weedeater by mix of oil gas should be with 4 cycle oil correct?

If you have a 4 cycle engine you should have oil in the crankcase and you don't need oil in the gas...now if your engine is 2 cycle which it probably is... then you need to mix 2 cycle oil with the gas...usually about 40 or 50 to 1...

What percentage of gas and oil do we mix into craftsman gas trimmer

You don't state how old your unit is. Most of the older units use 40:1 (3.2 oz. oil /gallon of gas or 1.6 oz oil/half-gallon gas). Newer models have tighter tolerances built into the carburetors (per EPA Emissions Standards) and are made to run 50:1 (2.5 oz oil/gallon of gas or 1.3 oz oil/half-gallon gas).
To be safe, I would run the 40:1 mix and use a synthetic 2 stroke oil or at least a blend. If it calls for 50:1 and you use 40:1, the extra lubrication won't hurt a thing.

Can't recall what fluid(s) to use.

The fuel is a combination of a good two cycle oil and regular gasoline at a 1:50 oil to gas ratio. Pour in half the gas first, add the oil, and put in the rest of the gas. It needs to be well mixed. (Do NOT use just motor oil)

Run a good bar oil, like Stihl bar oil in the oiler tank. Costs a tad more, but clings to the bar better than most.
