JUST GOT THE TV FROM A FRIEND. AND THE CHANNELS ON THE TV KEEP TURNING UP WITHOUT ME TOUCHING ANY BUTTONS. AND I CAN'T TURN THE CHANNELS WITH THE REMOTE BECAUSE THE CHANNELS ARE STILL CHANGING DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS WRONG ?
Its an rca this is a known problem. recently on ghost story cuz owners thought house was haunted. no the tvs ir is so sensitive it will power on and change channels on its own if someone enters the room. friend probably new this was happening. there is a fix but must be authorized repair center.

friend if your tv is flat screen then, there should be some buttons near its screen, press it
if its is lcd then there are two possibilities 1 there will be some buttons on its side or there must be some touch buttons, , , by pressing a button with small bulb will turn tv on
push channel down button through the channels, then it will go into av mode(video) by just keeping to press channel down. it will be channel below channel 02. just keep pushing channel down button

Hi,all the tack swicth of your front panel tv is defective ,because as you said when you change the volume sometimes is turns off meaning you have coroded swicth that makes your system control IC of your tv malfunction when you touch the button,in this case you may need tv technician to repair it.
One of two things. Most likely one of the buttons on the Tv is bad causing eratic functions. Igf so you might be able to disconnect the whole button-board. Could be the maion board in which case it's time to shop for a new TV.
when u connect ps3 to your tv turn on main switch now red led will come on press and hold touch button ps3 will come on keep your finger on the button and ps3 will turn off again factory settings are now reloaded this will work because i often change from standard v to hd tv
