Having a problem changing channels imputing into MX 3000 remote. Takes about 5 time to react to channel imput.I thought a new battery would help. It did not. Would rebooting the remote in the cabine

Presuming that the IR codes for the 0~9 numbers are captured correctly, then problems like this are usually down to either insufficient time between key presses, which can be solved by adding a small macro delay to each key; or the device being controlled is receiving multiple IR streams either directly from the hand unit and the IR emitters, or there's a blaster in the cabinet that's bouncing IR in multiple paths.

Get yellow band saying that there is no power. Do I need a new battery?

If you've tried charging it, and resetting the unit, then yes, its time for a replacement battery - which luckily isn't too expensive.
