Iphone 3G stuck on emergency call mode..

I bought a used Iphone with Cydia instalIed on it. I tried deleting some Cydia apps, Cydia stopped working. I tried restoring the Iphone to factory settings hoping the Cydia would disappear. Now the phone is stuck on emergency call mode and is asking or a compatible SIM card.

Try to reinstall a jailbroken version of the iPhone OS.
Do not (ever) use reset to factory if you need the device to be jailbroken to function (e.g. in case you are using an officially unsupported operator/plan)
