WONT GO INTO HIGH SPIN - Electrolux EWFLS70JSS Washer

You did not post the model number but when a front loader wont spin at high speed it usually means that a spring or shock absorber on the drum is broken or came off.

Possible that the controller is not shifting to switch on the high speed mode. Try and check if you can get this to work manually, try with another program on the panel. If so the fault is with the controller.

Usually won't spin until water is drained to a low level.

Wont drain possibly because of blockage or pump blocked or stuck. (A Common Problem in Washing Machines)

Process of elimination.
Where is Time Wheel set and what does it require to advanced to next stage.

Think of it as a Rotating Timer Switch stopping at each stage to check conditions.
The stages are controlled by sensors like "High Water Level"
The Sensor could be a simple Float Switch... eg. "High Water"

If water is High... Dont allow door to open and don't allow spin.
But do allow Pump to run.
It's all Plain Logic like used in computers (If, Then, Else)

Check the voltage to the motor when the program goes to the spin cycle. If there is voltage then check for free movement and also check on the capacitor to the motor. In some cases the high speed coil winding to the motor for the high RPM spin cycle can be faulty.

If the motor has a twin speed check the high speed winding. If the washer has a gear box for high speed , check and see if the high speed is initiated while it is on high speed spin.

sounds like you have a blocked hose/pump vent hole.......if its holding water in the bottom of the tub it wont spin it will try but the pcb wont let it do the spin .due to pressure switch telling its got water left... pull pipe off pressure switch check holes not blocked check all hoses......

Most hotpoint machines can be a bit sensitive on the balance control. If you have a half full machine, somtimes it wount spin as high as you want. It will try some spins until it finishes without high spin.

I have had the same problem with my front loader. The rug is too heavy and the drum isn't balanced. Try adding more items to the wash and it will spin.
