SOURCE: on boot up a lock symbol with a '9' is lit & nothing else happens

the "9" inside a lock means that your Num Lock button has been pressed. If all you see is the ">" then maybe you are looking at what's called a DOS prompt, and I have no idea why that would display. Try holding the Power Switch for 10 seconds and restart your computer. Hopefully things will be better, and you know where your Num Lock key is.

When turning on the "restart" symbol appears and spinning dots. Nothing else happens. Can not enter into the computer at all. Confused

I am guessing you are running Windows. You could try reinstalling Windows, but a re-installation will wipe everything it.

I can hear the door lock click, but the door lock symbol no longer appears, so nothing further happens. I have tried and replaced almost everything. Any ideas?

I didn't see if you've replaced the door lock assemble. I would look closely at all the connections at the door lock assemble and at the control. Also, look at door strike on door it self. I've seen part of the door strike break off and its hard to notice.

How do I cancel the control lock

It would help if you gave the brand and model number of your dishwasher, but the answer is basically the same. Look carefully at your dishwasher control panel. You probably have a little lock symbol that is lit up (or a light inside the symbol is lit). And usually this lock symbol is located near (usually above) a button that is usually used for another purpose. Most often this is the Heated-Dry key or button. Press and hold this key for 3 to 5 seconds until the lock symbol light goes out. And it's just that easy! But if you press the key, and nothing happens, then you may have a bad control console that will have to be replaced.

Lock Symbol staying on

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The Key symbol means the lock has been activated some how.

On most bosch of your class this is how you work it on & off.

Here`s how to deactivate it...

1) Press the "menu" button until you see "CHILD LOCK :ON" appear in the display. ( if nothing is pressed within 10 sec.following this the menu will close and it will default to program in the display )

2) Once you see what I just mentioned in the display press the "select" button until "CHILD LOCK :OFF" appears in the display.

3) Finally by pressing the "start/pause" button the key symbol should disappear confirming you have successfully exited the child lock program.

Let me know if this was helpful to you or not, if so please take a second and rate it accordingly.

Thank you for visiting "fixya" for your washer solution inquiry.

good luck going forward.
