2*2GB (4GB) ddr2 shows up as 2*1GB ddr2 (2GB)

It could be a problem if you are running a 32 bit operating system. I know that there is a limit of around 2gb on any 32bit windows install. this can be fixed by installing a 64bit version, IF your hardware supports it. You would need a 64bit cpu to install 64bit windows. If this is not the reason you are having the problem, the only other reason that would make sense would be that your motherboard doesnt support more than 1gb of ram per DIMM hence it shows that two are insalled but can only use one gb each. This i think is the more logical answer because I think the limit on GB for win 32bit was more like 3gb. good luck

Hello,
This motherboard does support 4GB RAM, however, if you are running a 32bit OS, like XP, Vista 32 and Windows 7 32, you may only see 3.5GB as this is a limitation to 32bit. If you are running 64bit Vista or Windows 7 you will see the full 4GB.

Hi.

The reason its only seeing just under 3GB of memory is no doubt because you are using a 32BIT operating system (probably XP).
If you were to install Win 7 (X32) or a 64BIT operating system the computer would see all 4GB of RAM you have installed.

Its nothing to worry about though as the computer will work just fine. If you were to check in the BIOS you would see all 4GB of memory is there and see by the BIOS.

Regards.

When i install Bios up date for MSI KT6 Delta MS-6590 to up grade my RAM to 3 GB i have Problem m My PC go to hill too slowly but i have 2400+ CPU ???? how can i solve my problem

Ram need to be installed in pairs. Windows XP only recognizes a max of 4GB ram 3.5 usable. Windows Vista 32bit only recognizes a max of 4GB ram as well as Windows 7 32bit. Vista/7 64bit can recognise a much larger amount of ram. Find out if your operating system is 32 or 64 bit and make sure you are using the right kind of ram for your system.

It is just slow low ram and want to know if i can put 2 new 2gb in it

You can install up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM at speeds of 533mhz, 667mhz, and 800mhz into that motherboard according to the ACER website.

However, since the computer is operating, by the sounds of it, then you should go to http://www.crucial.com/
and click on Scan My Computer (it's will be a blue bar near the top of the page). It will scan your computer, tell you what RAM you have installed, what RAM you can install, how much you can install, and it will also show you links to RAM that you can buy for your computer. It is quite handy.

I hope this helps! If not, please comment back and let us know!

Ram Installation more than 3G ex: (4G or 5G) will read 3.25 G How? i am using 2 units of KVR800D2N6/2G pulse 1G original>

Probably your Operating System is a 32bit. 32bit OS can only read up to 3GB of RAM regardless of the capacity of RAM you install. For example you installed 2pcs of 2GB RAM, that makes it 4GB in total, 32bit OS will only recognize 3GB. upgrade your OS to a 64bit OS and you can upgrade your RAM up to 8GB depending on how much your motherboard can handle.

My windows not shwoing whole RAM size

What you are seeing is correct. You have 4GB of physical RAM installed in the computer and it is being recognized properly by the BIOS. A 32-bit operating system can only address approximately 3.5GB of RAM. Vista may be rounding the number down to 3GB or if you are using on-board video, some of the RAM is being allocated for use by the video circuitry and is not reported as system memory. To see all of the installed RAM in your operaing system, you need to upgrade to a 64-bit version of Vista.
