Datamax I-4208 not printing allocated amount of labels

I am trying to print 739 labels on a Datamax I-4208 with the latest firmware and DPL drivers already loaded. The issue is I am only getting 371 labels the 3 times I have tried printing the full amount. I resorted to printing said labels 100 at a time. It works that way but as you can imagine it is very time comsuming.

Any assistance or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly which software to use these (label matrix, bartender etc.) and which driver (nicelabel, seagull, etc)? There are fields that uses counters or databases?

Try printing 200 at a time, anything over that and it will cause the printer to skip numbers or overheat. 200 (with a 10 second delay) at a time may take a while longer, but it its much better to start over due to number skipping or other errors. I can account to this since we do inventories and we are asked to print 50K+ labels, and any time we want to save time by printing more only causes us more problems.

Eventually you HAVE to give the printer a break, during inventory times at work, we have to print 50K+ labels, and in order to prevent either serial number skipping or other issues, I print in 250 batches, yes; there is a time gap but it's better than to restart a series of prints because a few numbers were skipped. Try printing 200 and 200 sets to prevent errors or skips.

Sometimes it's simply the Internet Browser settings. Go to File, then Page Setup and change the margins to 0.1 and all footers and headers to Blank or Empty.

Zpl emulation with datamax i-4208

You can't, on this obsolete model. zpl is "Zebra Printer Language." This model of Datamax is dpl only ("Datamax Printer Language"). Most current models of Datamax printers are dpl and zpl compatible.

Datamax I 4208 prints slow when set to landscape

try using a seagull sceintific driver.
also if you are sending graphics (barcode) instead of an actual barcode decoded font, the printer will process as a graphic.
If serial, speed up to max, if parallel it should print quite fast

Datamax i - 4208

If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties. Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.

You probably need to adjust the leveling cam if you have not done so already. This is the green thumbscrew near the print mechanism.

Printing from windows

as i understand, DPL will works if you are using a serial comunication. When you say "using Generic Text Driver" i can see you are trying to print snce parallel port, as any other prnter. If that is the case, you can forget the DPL. Install an apropiated DATAMAX printer driver, and print from Wordpad.
