Take your scanner for a ride on your lunch & have a buddy look at cylinder misfire counts-- if you can use Mode #06 data on that system
Check fuel pressure on the road if that data is avail
Put a few parameters in the scanner & play them back when you return,put them up on a notebook or larger screen ,so you can layer them down a page together

Check your System scanner application is running. Open the End Task manager select the tab process and see there may be scanner.exe is there select that one and click end task.
If you know the brand and model, these can be used to search for the correct driver. The driver will need to be downloaded for the scanner to be recognized. I would suggest searching for the driver for the specific model.
