It could be a memory issue as the bare minimum to run Vista is 1 GB. Also make sure all your drivers are up to date with the proper vita drivers. Hope this helps.

The BOD or blue screen of death is a driver related issue. It does however seem odd to be happening 40 min in instead of at boot. Check the event log in computer administration for a more detailed error log. Google the event and you should get more detail on correcting it.

If you still have the orginal 512 memory that came with it compaq memory will mix with about any other as long as the speed is higher then it and if as long as you have a single gig ram chip not a duel gig chip you can mix it and almost get a gig and a half max is 1.47 gbs
