Question about Sharp R-930AK Convection/Microwave Oven
There are several possible causes for a dead oven. Since yours quit in the middle of heating, I'd say it's most likely failure of the magnetron tube which supplies the microwaves. There's a safety thermostat on the tube which opens up and shuts off power if the tube overheats. Overheating is one sign of a tube that's gone bad.
There's really nothing user-serviceable in a microwave oven. Because of hazardous voltages inside and the possibility of microwave leakage, service should be left to professionals. Take the oven to a service shop for an estimate.
