SOURCE: lg lcd tv screen goes

I had this problem on my 42" Philips. Just got it yesterday and worked fine on the tv stand. As soon as I mounted the TV to the wall via wall mount system, I had the exact same issue you did. Figured it out today.

The wall mount was putting pressure against the center of the back of the tv (tv set had a slightly rounded back plate, and the mount was a flat plate). As soon as I put spacers (part of the wall mount hardware set) between the wall mount braket and the tv so there was no contact except at the mounting holes, the tv worked fine.

My theory is the pressure pushed the tv back plate against some board components which caused them to overheat (no air flow); or put pressure on internal connectors. I dont know.

Hope this helps, may not apply to your situation.

SOURCE: my LG HD tv screen suddenly went green. sound is

I disagree with info provided, if screen of your LG lcd tv becomes green that means inverter board is working and lcd tv does not have convergence ICs.
Please unplug tv from ac wall socket for minute to get it reset, replug back in and turn it On and check its picture.
If still showing green screen then change input source with remote, if tv shows same green screen on all inputs that means its either lcd panel problem or digital signal processor got bad loacted on main board. Local tv repairman is needed to confirm and fix it.

SOURCE: Have a 42" LG LCD

Sometimes this is an indication of a bad LCD Controller Board (or TCON board). Sometimes it's even just a loose or improper connection with one of the ribbon cables leading into it. When the set heats up the connection expands and makes better contact and functions somewhat better. If you remove the rear access panel you might be able to see the Tcon board. It will probably be under its own metal shield / cover plate. It will have a bunch of wires wrapped in a steel braided shielding cable leading into one side of it through a connector. It will also have 2 or 4 thin flat ribbon cables leading out the other side of it via plastic connectors going to the actual LCD panel. You can google it to see pictures of a Tcon board, it will look similar to the one at this link: You can try flipping up the little plastic retainer clips that hold these flat ribbons in place and gently pulling the ribbons straight out. There will be some gold / copper contacts right on the tips of these ribbons. Sometimes they get oxidized and need to be gently cleaned with a pencil eraser to make them shiny again. Then just slide them straight back in the same connectors and flip down the little plactic retainer clip to hold them in place again. I am assuming of course that the unit is unplugged while you do all this and that the warranty has already expired. If you have any more questions or require additional assistance, please comment back on this page and I will endeavour to help you. Good luck, and if this was at all helpful, please click on the 4 Thumbs Up rating icon above. Thank you very much. Joe.

Vizio LCD 47" switching channels takes very long

Has it always done this since you purchased it? Check the response time online for that TV, it may just be that it is a model with poor response time when changing channels. I've seen some value brand TVs that seem to take a full second or more to switch and go blue/black in between while switching.

Very painful to channel surf like that, so if you have a cable box etc hooked up use that for surfing channels instead if you can't handle the wait.
