Problem for Sharp AL-1655CS Laser Printer
LOUD GRINDING NOISE

Everytime we print on our Sharp AL-1655CS printer it makes a loud grinding noise. We called Sharp and they said that we were using the wrong drum. They said because it was not their brand it caused a problem. We changed back to their brand and it got better for about a minute. Now it is extremely loud. It fills the entire office with noise when someone prints. I checked the drum and it is leaking black dust.

The black dust is toner. Be carful as it is carcenagenic (dont get it on your skin) you will need to dispose of the leaking toner cartridge and get a new one. also you will need to clean the printer very carfully to get rid of the spilt toner. A combination of spray duster and a toner hoover are the best way. do not use a normal hoover as you will kill it.
It is always possible that you have done serious damage to the printer using a non standard toner cartridge. I would recomend getting a qualified person to give the printer a good service.

That reply doesn't even answer the question. The question was what is causing the problem not how to clean up toner. Also, I highly doubt that aftermarket toner drum would damage machine. They are made to manufacture spec without the huge markup.
