Hello,

Use the [S<-->D] key to switch back and forth between the two format.
If you do not want any of the new stuff [MODE][LineIO][ENTER]. Your calculator will do as you are familiar with.

Hope it helps

Cant get "fix" off calculator

This is indicating that the calculator is set to a fixed decimal notation. You can change the notation to scientific or engineering, but in those cases you'll see either "SCI" or "ENG" on the display in place of the "FIX".

You can also specify a floating notation by pressing 2nd [FLO], in which case none of the annunciators light up.

I cant get the screen to go away from f(x)= and i want the answer to be converted to a decimal answer instead of in fraction form

I believe your calculator is set up to do TABLE computations. In these computations you enter the function for which you want a table generated.
Press [SHIFT][9] to clear/reset the calculator. You should find a CLR marking on calculator near the 9 key.

You can also press [MODE] button and select [COMP], which is the general computational mode.

To have the calculator display all results in decimal format
Press [SHIFT][MODE] to enter (SETUP) and select [2:LineIO]

Salut,

Press [2nd] and release it.
Press and HOLD [DownArrow] till screen lightens enough.
Press [CLEAR] to clear the screen.

Hope it helps.

You didn't specify the make and model of calculator, but here goes...

It may be marked +/-, CHS, or (-). If that doesn't help, please tell us what calculator you're trying to use.
