There is a drain plug in the bottom of the engine. It has a square hole in it that a 3/8 socket extension will fit in. It may be hidden by the belt cover if you can't see it. Dwain

How to drain oil from a lawn mower engine

Depends on what type mower you may have. Most push mowers have a drain plug on the underneath side and is usually a 3/8" plug.
Some have a plug on the lowest point of the engine next to the engine mounting deck. Most shops use a vacuum pump to extract the oil out of the engine as this manner is faster and less messy. The vacuum pumps aren't that costly and handy. Hope this will help

Have a GTS 5.5 here, and cannot find the drain plug in order to change the(OLD) oil. Had the blade and cover off,and saw no bolt or plug. Also didn't see a plug on the side. Any help appreciated.

Well If You Cant find drain plug [should be a square drive]

Then I would turn the thing upside down [empty gas tank first of course]& drain it thru the filler plug. Perhaps the drain is an inset hex bolt and you must REALLY clean the underneath, dig around for it!

I cannot find the oil drain plug? The only bolts under neath are the engine mount bolts?

Hi, they are made to drain from the dipstick filler. Remove the dipstick and lay the mower to that side. Remove the sparkplug cap first as a safety precaution. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

Need tips and location of oil filter and drain plug.

well the drain plug is ALWAYS gonna be on the bottom of the oil pan bolted to the bottom of the engine, the filter is either gonna be on the oil pump near the oil pan or it will be screwed into the side of the engine block, either way you should be able to see it just from a quick look from underneath the car.
