You have two options at this point.
1. Re-purchase the game which will have a new serial number. Pros: Legal Cons: Costs money
2. Download a keygen which will generate serial numbers for the game. (not recommended) Pros: Free Cons: Illegal

Well, if you can't find the s/n at all, you can always call the tech support number and have them generate a new one for you. Assuming that you legally own the game, try either gameburnworld.com or gamecopyworld.com for a patch to run the game without the serial number. I'd hesistate to take that step, but I know that i've had to use their patches/cracks on numerous of my old games which i've lost the serial numbers to.

If the key provided on the case/manual then you will probably have to deal directly with 2KGames.

They will either give you a new one or explain why the one you are trying is not working.

I suggest you try again and make sure you enter the code exactly as it shows. Even Caps and lower case make a difference.
