Very easy. you should be able to find a replacement fan on ebay or somewhere else on the web for discounted pricing. Go for it yourself and if you have trouble ask a friend or take it to a local repair shop.

Hi It depends on your manual skills. I have to say that i open laptops many times per week, and i dont find it that difficult. The main problem is that you probably wont have the service manual or a step by step instructions. There are a lot of screws that needs to be taken out and then put back into place at the exact same place. Doing a diagram while you take out the screws is very important the first time you open a new laptop. Replacing the fans inside are not a big deal on some models, but it could be tricky and you wont know it until you get there. The reason it's expensive it's because it's not always an easy task. So you can always try it, but I recommend that you let someone with experience do this.

TV not turning on

I can almost guarantee the issue is caused by faulty capacitors in the power supply but it is not something I recommend you to work on yourself because there is a danger of electric shock.
The capacitors will have dried out and there are lots of companies now selling power supply refurbishment kits but this does mean de-soldering and re-soldering a selection of components and if the de-soldering is not done properly, it is easy to rip electrical plating out and effectively make the power supply scrap.

I estimate a local TV repair company would charge for about 1 hour labour and parts cost and would be reasonably priced at about 50-70 UK Pounds.

Diplomat ADP 5520 Stainless Steel Range not getting hot enough

The circular element that the fan sits behind heats the oven. Ensure the thermocouple is back in the right place. Too near the element and the oven will stay cool.
Circular elements can be pricey and fitting should cost no more than an hours labour.

I need to replace the charging port on my Lenovo 3000 Y410

the power port (dc jack) on a laptop is an easy fix. a repair shop will strip the laptop down to get to the motherboard and solder a new jack onto it. the dc jack should only cost a few pounds (can usually be found on ebay) so the main cost will be for labour. If the charge is over 25 pounds I would shop around because it should take about 30 mins to fix.

1992 mazda protege dx 4 dr won't start. Battery is only 2 months old. Makes a fast ticking sound from inside car similar to turn signal light out.

Hi Robin, As the battery is new and presumably not defective, I think you should suspect the soloniod fitted to the starter motor. If that component has become defective it will give the sound you're reporting. Depending on where you live in the world and the labour charges, you can have the contacter's replaced or the starter motor (if labour charges are high) Regards John

My computer is making noise from the fan

Some noise from a fan is normal with age typically. You can run a free program like speedfan to make sure it's not affecting cooling. 60-65 degrees C is not uncommon but 40-55 C is more normal temp. If the fan is causing you stress, you can have a repair shop replace it. It will probably set you back $100-150 parts and labour,... mostly labour. Some laptops will have an access panel on the back allowing for easy replacement, typically 2-4 screens and a small plug is all it takes to replace them.

My daughter got frustrated with something on her computer and pushed her screen back very roughly, causing the screen to appear broken. How easy or hard would it be to fix? Is it likely just the wires...

> how easy to fix?

Very easy for a qualified technician, but it will cost about $100 for a "previously-owned" replacement screen, or about $200 for a brand-new replacement screen, plus about $60 for "labour" to do the replacement. Asking $150 to $200 for "labour" is a RIP-OFF!

Unless you purchased the "all-damages-including-accidental" warranty, or unless you used a credit-card that automatically offers that "all-damages" warranty, you have to pay for the repairs.

Power supply fan failure

While a qualified technician could replace the "dead" fan, the charges for his/her "labour" would exceed the cost of purchasing a brand-new power-supply.
