Question about Apple iPhone 3G

Apple - SORT THIS NOW!! iPhone 3G Bluetooth problem

Like so many others, my bluetooth has stopping finding other devices, and is not being found either. I've tried updating to 2.2.1 and turning everything off, powering off, then turning everything back on - no change!
On the bluetooth settings screen it just says searching endlessly.
Many people are having this problem, so why aren't Apple fixing it? If people could get refunds on the c*r*a*p Apple sell, they wouldn't have such a fat bank balance!!!

Come on Apple - listen to your customers!

It's very simple! The iPhone doesn't have normal bluetooth!

Unlike most devices, the iPhone can only see bluetooth hands-free headsets, and can't be found by other bluetooth devices either!

How bad is that?!?! Apple release what is basically a pocket computer, similar in some ways to the various pocket PCs (such as the O2 XDAs for example) which run Mobile Windows, but don't include normal bluetooth facilities, even though we are paying £400 for the hardware and we are now in the 21st century (and this is Apples 2nd attempt at getting it right)!

And don't get me started on the camera, or "cut and paste", or compatibility with accessories, or ......................

Why my iphone can not find any bluetooth devices

iPhones cannot pair with bluetooth devices other than headsets and hands-free sets, you cannot transfer files or do anything else except use bluetooth headsets or hands free sets. This is why your phone cannot find other devices.

The iPhone unfortunately does not pair with just any device, it would be best to check compatibility before purchasing a new peripheral for your iPhone.

Most Bluetooth devices can connect only to one device. Make sure that it is not paired with any other device. Then again, if that doesn't work then, probably the Bluetooth device is non-compatible.

Hiding iphone 3g when bluetooth is switched on

Hi!  The bluetooth feature on the iPhone is currently limited by Apple to the headset profile and will only function with bluetooth headsets. File transfers, object push (which are the BT profiles exploited by bluejacking) are not activated.
It is not visible to other devices so you dont have to worry. :-)

Well if it is in discoverable mode then it should find your device. Well what you should do restart both of your devices your iPhone 3G and your Mac laptop that should resolve your problem.

Apple ifone bluetooth

you have to make sure that bluetooth is turned on.

go to your home screen, touch settings, then general, then bluetooth, make sure the bluetooth switch is set to on.

Then follow your directions for the your headset for pairing, usually it involves holding the power button down for so many seconds, then it will enter a "pairing" mode where the headset is able to be seen by phones.

Once that happens it should pop up on the bluetooth page of the iPhone and it will ask for the devices password. Most devices the default password is 1111.

Hope this helps and enjoy your Iphone, I know I do ;)
