Question about Dell Inspiron™ E1505 PC Notebook

Diagnostics indicates network adapter disconnected

My wifes E1505 Dell was cronicly having connection issues, always had to have it reconfigured. Now, it says it is disconnected, I search all hardware and nothing indicates that it is disconnected. Though diagnostics says it cant read it. So, bascially I cannot trouble shoot the actual issue, can it just be dead? And if so, how do I replace it? It is wireless and I have directly hooked it up, bypassing the router on our pc.

    Well, if this is true, I do not know what to do about it when it will not connect to the internet no matter what I do. Would it be possible to download this onto a thumbdrive and upload it onto her laptop?

You can try first to uninstall and reinstall the adapter by going to Device Manager
Rightcl Mycomputer > properties > hardware tab then click on Device manager and look now for network adapter just right click the adapter and select uninstall then restart the computer and that should reinstall the adapter back and it should work already..........

This is a sure problem with the network drivers. They are either corrupt or is conflicting with the operating system. This happens by time of usage. Please find the correct drivers to be installed from the link provided bellow. Do select the correct version of windows installed on the system

If after installing the drivers you face the same issue then the lan card needs to be replaced.

I was able to connect to my HP Compaq Presario V2000 Laptop to my WiFi Network using NetGear. When I reconfigured the network I could connect to all other network like Dell Lptop , Nokia Smart Phone and HP...


Your Compaq V2000 has an Intel Pro Wireless 2200 BG wireles adapter. (doesn't support N, but that's not the point I think)

If your new network configuration is based on WPA/WPA2 encyption, this adapter has some known problems to establish a connection. It works great with WEP, but not so well with WPA.
Sometimes the issue can be solved by installing the latest versions of drivers and software for the wireless adapter.
If it still doesn't work, a known workaround is to disable via device manager all other network adapters in the computer (ethernet adapter), leaving active only the Intel Pro 2200 wireless adapter.

We have a wifi at home.. But every time a connect to it it doesn't work or connect either it always says "DISCONNECTED!"

Try using a static ip address and use the information from the router's ip address. (ip address, dns, subnet, gateway etc.)

Another option is to reconfigure your router by going to the router's ip address(which you can find [if on a computer] in control panel> networking>change adapter settings>local network>properties>ipv4 address)

My dell e1505 inspiron laptop will not let me turn on the wirless adaptor or we just don't know how to turn it on. Can you please help. We have tried the fn-f2 and that does not work. thank you

First, check device manager and system setup (BIOS) to make sure a wireless device is detected by the system and that the driver is installed. If it is, fn+f2 should be doing it for you.

I replaced the hardrive on my dell inspiron e1505 when the original died but now it does not indicate a wireless connection area-do i need to replace a wireless card?

No. You need to install the driver for the wireless adapter. Go to the Dell website under support, enter your service tag number, go to driver downloads, download the driver for the adapter, and install in your computer.

Hello, i got a dell inspiron E1505 ,which is showing that the radio it disabled thus i got no wireless connect.I would be happy if you can advice me on how to enable my radio

  • Double-click the "QS" icon in the system tray to launch the Dell QuickSet utility.

  • Click the "Radio Control Options" icon in the upper-left corner of the QuickSet window.

  • Click the "Advanced Settings" button and select the "Radio Control Options" tab at the top of the window.

  • Place a check next to the WiFi device and then click "OK." You should see the "WiFi" indicator light on the bezel above the keyboard turn on. If the indicator turns on, you should now be able to connect to a wireless access point. If you continue to experience a problem, continue to the next step to confirm that the adapter is enabled in the Windows XP Device Manager.

  • Click the "Start" button. Right-click the "My Computer" icon on the Start menu and select "Properties."

  • Select the "Hardware" tab at the top of the System Properties window and then click the "Device Manager" button.

  • Double-click the "Network Adapters" category.

My labtop keeps on disconnecting from the internet it says something like unable to connect the preffered wireless network and I dont have any idea why.

Open "Networks".
Click "View Available Networks".
Click your preferred wireless network.
Click "Disconnect", to prevent your computer, in the future, from connecting to that non-functional network.
Choose a different network.
Click "Connect".

Network and audio devices not working

It sounds like you may have either a faulty motherboard or a problem with the drivers. I would first try reloading the drivers by downloading the latest ones from the Dell support site.
Let me know if this helps. If not we can try some other things.

A hardware error usualy indicated a bad network cable or a bad network card. Have you tried using a different Cable?
