Re: E005

On this copier you have to reset the error code by getting into service mode, depressing *, 4, * , right arrow once to the ERROR screen and then depressing " OK ". Copier should momentarily turn itself off, then come back on again and all should be ready. I'm assuming that the WEB is installed properly with the supply roller coming up over the top and going back down the the take up roller. Good luck.

Ir 405 copier code as displayed e005. but what is problem i am changed web roller but still e005

Error E005 means the fuser cleaner roller has run out & may need a replacement. If the error is false it will disappear by following the reset procedure. To clear this error code press * 2 and 8 * in that 2&8 are pressed simultaneously. Go to the web counter and clear the counter back to Zero (0). Machine will now restart your machine & error code will disappear. If this doesn't help then try clearing both web counters in service mode, COUNTER>MISC>FIX-WEB> and COUNTER>DRBL-1>FIX-WEB> perform a Error Clear in service mode FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR>. Hope this helps... Daniel

I have replaced le fusing cleaning WEB but the error code E005 is still displayed when I switch on the copier CANON ir400. What can I do to reset the error code. Thanks

You have to get into service mode and go to the counters and go to the web counter and reset it. Also, You may want to go to the Funcation mode and reset the error codes also. To lock the counters, turn the main power switch OFF then back ON.

I have a canon 6551 which is giving me an error E-005 turn switch off and on, but nothing happens. How to resolve?

The E005 error code means that the machine needs to have its Fixing Web replaced. After replacing the web, the error code will need to be reset. The part number for the Fixing Web is FY1-1046-000 . To reset the E005 code, you will need to access service mode by opening the front cover of the copier, insert a straightened paper clip into the small hole (located on the left, front side of the upper inner cover), press button with paper clip. Press the Additional Functions (*) button. A " $ " will appear in the display. Press *, 4, *, then you will need to navigate to web counter, select and then enter all 00000 to reset, press ok.

Hi Malcom
Go in servicemode(use a long L&key to press the microswitch)
You will find the microswitch by openning the front cover and on the left upper part under the controll panel you will see a very small hole were you have to insert a long, thin L&key to press the microswitch.
If you have pressed the switch a "$" sign will apear on the screen.Press *6* and page to the web counter, press clear and then ok.
After this is done press *4* and page to error press ok and switch machine on and off.

That should do it

Error "E005" by Canon GP285

A E005 is the Cleaning Web has run out or the counter has reached it out count. You have to replace the cleaning web in the fixing unit. And reset the counter for the web. It is not good to just reset the counter because inf you run out of the cleaning web you may cause more damage to the fixing unit and thus coast you more money and time. It's best to call a repair person and ask them to bring a cleaning web ( maybe $65.00 -$75.00 plus labor) That's your best bet

A E005 is the cleaning web counter. If you have replaced the cleaning you can reset the web counter in service mode under counters... The service switch is right next to the total meter in the front of the inside cover of the copier.... Once you press it you will see a little "$" sign shows and hit the "*" "6""*" and courser down the the web counter. You have to hold down the Clear botton and the hit the service switch to reset the counter back to zero... Good Luck

Error code E005

if your machine is giving E-005 that means your fixing assembly (fuser cleaning web is not detecting) is bad.

go in service mode by pressing additional fuction + 2 & 8 + again press addtional function

If you find that the E005 code won't reset after replacing the Web, and clearing both web counters in service mode, <COPIER>COUNTER>MISC>FIX-WEB> and <COPIER>COUNTER>DRBL-1>FIX-WEB> perform a Error Clear in service mode <COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR>.
