Question about Dell 3300MP Multimedia Projector

Open Question

Dell 3300MP searching for signal

When i connect the projector to the laptop (after turning the projector on first), it just shows searching for signal.
I have checked on my laptop the presentation mode is on. (enable it using Fn+F8 keys).
Also there is no problem with the lamp i guess because the projector turns on and off properly.
It used to work properly earlier.
it just doesnt recognise the signal when connected to laptop, just displays the blue screen giving the message searching for signal.
Please help.

SOURCE: my acer lap top will not recanize the projector when i press the fn plus thef8 keys

Hi, Try lowering your laptop's resolution (Display Properties) to 1024x768 (or even lower like 800x600), before fn + F8. You can also try lowering the Monitor's screen refresh rate (60Hx). Another setting you can check is Advanced Settings tab or button and check settings for projector (instead of TV). If it works in the lower settings, you can try moving the settings higher until it quits again. If the above does not fix your problem, you may need to re-install your graphics/video driver. Hope this gives you an idea. Post back should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

I have dell 3300mp,when I turn the power on it makes a very loud noise. It does not make the sound in standby or cool down. It does work and display a signal okay, but it is very loud. Sound like a fan?,...

The main fan that cools the lamp is mostly high speed when the unit is running. when it shuts down it slows the fan down, until it stops in standby. So the noise is only really loud when it is showing a picture.

try setting the fan to eco mode (slower running) and see if the noise is acceptable. If it is still too loud then you will have to replace it. Have a look at the fan and see if any of the plastic blades are missing.

Using a Dell 3300MP Multimedia Projector trying to connect to a mac via usb...says "cannot find signal", nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

you cannot pass a signal through a usb input. USB inputs on a computer are usually used from firmware upgrades or mouse control depending on projector.

During Powerpoint presentations, I am unable to play embedded video clips OR straight from a DVD that is minimized on desktop without a lag...on the screen it says 'searching for signal' when I click on...

this is caused by your computer changing resolutions in order to display the video full screen. to decrease this, set your screen size as close as posible to the size of the video
