Camcorder JVC GR-D290U Will NOT EJECT TAPE

My JVC goes into safeguard mode (02), I have tried to eject the tape but no luck. The motor winds but it sounds as though the gears are not catching. Please Advise. I have tried to troubleshoot via the manual but no luck and no JVC dealers here.

SOURCE: JVC Error Code 02 Safeguard Mode

Brendon, The supply side tape guide can jump out of its track and cause the mechanism to lock up. The load motor is trying to load the tape but cannot, so the load motor driver "times out" and displays the E02 error you're seeing. If you can get to it, try reseating the guide into its track, be careful not to scratch or touch the drum assy located right near the guide track. Good Luck, I hope you can resolve the problem. Unfortunately this is a repair issue. There are several failures that can occur, none of which will be resolved without service, that create this safeguard situation. Often the fpc cable which carries sensor information to the micro has been injured and that requires repair. Good luck, magic seadog

SOURCE: JVC Camcorder Model # GR-D270U

On page 51 of your manual, it states that an error has occurred and recommends resetting it by removing your battery, waiting a few minutes to clear it, and then resuming. If that doesn't clear the issue, then it may need servicing.

SOURCE: E04 Safeguard mode due to Dirt head

1. The drum cannot be started or drum rotation is stopped
because tape transport load is too high.
1) Tape tension is extremely high.
2) The tape is damaged or soiled with grease, etc.
2. The DRUM FG signal is not received by the syscon
CPU.
1) Disconnection in the middle of the signal line.
2) Failure of the DRUM FG pulse generator (hall element).
3. No drum control voltage is supplied to the MDA.
4. No power is supplied to the DRUM MDA.

Gr-dvl-520u trying to record or playback tape it goes into safeguard mode within 5 seconds. alternatly pressing play and still every 3 seconds advanced the playback without it going into safeguard mod

According to http://www.techlore.com/article/10974/JVC-Camcorder-Stuck-in-Safe-Mode/,

"JVC notes that you are also given a malfunction code when the unit is placed into safeguard. If it displays code 01, 02, or 06 you should remove
the battery and powersupply and wait for a while. Code 03 and 04 indicate that you should eject and reinsert the tape.

If neither of these solutions work, your only alternative is to bring it to a shop or send it to JVC for diagnosis or repair. Unfortunately, there is no other way to clear the condition."

If you are getting E03 or E04 errors on every tape you try, it sounds like a servicing is required.

Jvc gr-d250u in safeguard mode error 01

Excuse me I'm just 10 years old, but I can surely help you. Have you tried to eject the tape, if not then try. If it does'nt work check the gear works ( the circles with pointy edges that collide with each other to make the tape spin and eject it) that there aren't any little objects in the way to stop it spinning. In my parents camera there was a tiny rock that i took out with a pin.

                                         GOOD LUCK  :)

Unit in safeguard mode

You mix te info with Write protected tapes.
Safe guard mode is caused by the motor that takes the tape out of it's case, through the mechanics and past the video head.
If for some reason the electronics detect that it's been done by too much force, the safe guard issue promts.
