Question about M-Audio FIREWIRE 1814 Sound Card

My pc is running windows xp, When my firewire 1814 is plugged in the pc randomly freezes completely. The Screen, mouse, everything stops dead. And it only responds to a reset. The pc doesn't do it when the maudio 1814 isnt plugged in.

There is probably an address conflict going on--check in the bios to be sure that the firewire port is set to auto

I have the same problem, did you find the solution?

Keyboard locks randomly after login


Sound like you might have a virus - try running antivirus program - such as Avast or Antivir - which is free.
If that doesn't work, then try doing a System Restore - if that doesn't work, then do a System Recovery complete re-install - but back up your pictures and documents first as you will lose everything and you'll be starting over again fresh.

If mouse is moving randomly across the screen then you may have to change the mouse or the mouse pad. If system freezes automatically that is your software problem. Please install a fresh copy of windows xp or vista whatever. Hopefully it should work . thank you.......

Install Mouse drivers before you plug in new mouse
Check your Mouse manufacture for latest drivers.
Also,ensure your Windows Home XP is up-to-date.
