Check your cable or pins on the connector. They may be cut or broken.

The monitor turns on but says "no signal"

Usually this means either your cable isn't connecting properly to your computer or there is a compatibility problem between the monitor and the computer. Are you getting the "no signal" message AFTER you have connected the machine to a working/ turned on computer? Because the monitor will ALWAYS say "No signal" if it isn't hooked up to anything. Also, you will want to verify that none of your pins (from the end of the cable) is missing, and that your cable is firmly seated into the port on your computer. Other than those things, you really need to say a lot more than just, "The monitor turns on but says 'no signal'" for anyone to be able to assist you.

Monitor won't turn on I have connected everything properly and still no signal

I didn't see whether the power strip where you have all devices plugged in was turned on. Plus, you only showed one side of the monitor. There should be an indicator light on the monitor which indicates that electricity is running through the unit. Lastly, did you read the owner's manual before putting this unit together? Check all options and let me know what happens.

Hp pavilion slimline s3100n boots up - fan on - monitor reads no video signal

The most common causes are:
  1. Loose video cable on either monitor or back of desktop
  2. Bad monitor (only way to test monitor is hook it up to another machine or hook up a known working monitor to your existing machine.
  3. Bad video card - this is less likely since most video cards are on board but if you have a different card, check to ensure it's seated properly on the motherboard.

My dell inspiron 530 shows a block with red, white, green, and read, can't get to the my programs????

That "red white green and blue" block is a color pattern tester. that means the monitor is on, but is not receiving a signal, so its running tests. If your monitor has Digital input and VGA input, you may just need to switch inputs. Look for 1 or VGA if youre using the blue hook up. look for 2 or digital or dvi if youre using the larger white hook up. Some monitors also have 'auto detect'. If you are in "auto detect' bbut the color box is still there, then your monitor is not receiving video signal from the computer. It could indicate a bad cable or no signal being sent by the machine. If you try another monitor, you can see if the machine is working. I would try a monitor setting for VGA-1 first, since thats most common.

My computer will turn on but my monitor does not get a signal and I've tried this on two working monitors and two different power chords. The lights on the keyboards don't even work. Any solution?

I was just dealing with this last night. My pc would come on, but I kept getting a "No Signal" message on my monitor. I first plugged the machine into a known working monitor. It worked fine so that eliminated the video card issue. Then I plugged the monitor into a different computer...it too worked. So I knew that the monitor was good. I then switched the cord from the faulty monitor and still didn't get a signal. I proceeded investigating the issue. I found that if you boot the machine in safe mode, it actually caught a signal. So...I figured it must be something to do with the resolution. My solution: Boot the machine in safe mode, change the resolution in the control panel and reboot the machine. If it doesnt catch the signal booting in safe mode, I suspect it is a faulty video card. You are likely to find what you are looking for online at zipzoomfly.com or newegg.com

Screen will not stay on, getting message no input signal

The message input signal means no signal is being feed to the monitor.
Check the cable use to connect the monitor to the video card.. fix and secure the connection.
If the computer is reading and you know its working, check the video card.
Turn off the CPU disconnect the video card from the motherboard and reconnect.
Try to open your CPU and see if it reacts with your monitor. If nothing happens replace your video card

No signal

If it is connected to a working/running machine that machine may have a video card problem. Try hooking the monitor up to another computer and see if it works there.

My monitor says no signal

You'll need to check the cable connections and the computer that it is attached to. The monitor may be going into standby mode because the computer went into Suspended/Hibernate mode. Try restarting the computer. If you're unable to do this, try a hard power off and then try to turn it back on.
