Ac unit keeps resetting

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire air conditioner keeps resetting itself. First, be sure the electrical service is adequate for the model you have chosen. This information can be found on the serial plate, which is located on the side of the cabinet and behind the grille. Secondly, be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards. Lastly, your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have a very old mixer, a hamilton beach no.18. I have a basic understanding of how things work, but this has me beat. The cup holder switch is the on/off, and the top switch is to change speed correct?...

The green ground wire attaches directly to the frame of the mixer. If the green iwire is attached directly to the speed "prong" you will have a direct short. There should be a grounding screw just inside the place where the wire enters the frame. If it really old, you may not have a ground screw because in the old days the wires only had two prong plugs. You can operate the machine without a ground wire, but if it fails internally you could get a potentially fatal shock. Any screw that is attached directly to the frame can be used as a ground screw. The green wire is there to take any grounded short circuit back to the breaker box instead of sending the electricity into you.

This is a prong conversion problem and all you have to do is convert from 4-prong to 3-prong. Your suggested configuration will not work, damage the dryer, and pose a fire hazard. The correct way to convert from 4 to 3-prong is by using three of the four wires; black, red, and white (neutral), and then connect the dryer frame to the neutral terminal. It is similar to making the neutral (white) and the ground terminals as one.

I need to convert a four prong into a three prong cord, I have the three prong cord allready, but it's not color coerdinated (sp) what do I do?

Hi, The 3 prong cord should be set up with the ground wire in the middle and the lead wires on the outside. It will hook up that way.
Just make sure you put the middle ground wire on the middle post of the block and the outside wires go on the putside post. It doesn't matter witch side.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
