Why is my computer shutting down without warning?

If the computer powers off with no warning - just turns off instantly, this is usually caused by overheating. If it is a desktop PC, the most likely culprit is the CPU fan/heatsink. It may need to be cleared of dust and new thermal paste applied to the CPU. If you aren't comfortable doing this, take it to your nearest computer repair shop.

If you have a laptop, it will be harder to access the CPU. Take it to your computer repair shop and ask them to check the CPU and heatsink.

Home pc shuts off

Open the case up make sure the fans are working on the power supply and the CPU, if they are not working the PC will overheat and shutdown until it cools down then will run again. If the CPU fan is not working then this will ultimately burn out the CPU

You can also check if the power suply is working in parameters

Window shut down when scanning.

That is mainly caused by your laptop CPU heat too hot. Just clean the CPU fan and dip some lubricant oil into the CPU fan. Then buy a laptop cooling stand.

Or you can take a look at http://www.laptops-battery.co.uk/blog/how-to-replace-the-dell-processor-thermal-cooling-assembly/

Did you upgrade or totally reload the os from scratch? Usually improper shut down sequences are caused by corrupted os.

K8N Neo4 and Vista

It usually means that there is a piece of hardware or a program that it is having trouble closing. Try defragging the drive some times that can help things quite a bit. Also make sure you have the latest drivers fro all your hardware.
